Specialist materials merchant Southern Sheeting has signed up as a main sponsor for Ardingly Football Club.

The self-funded club presented the business with a framed shirt, sporting its logo, as a thank you for its support. Southern Sheeting, based in nearby East Grinstead, donated £1,000, which will help the club to reset the goalposts and buy new kit for the first team. Tony Hobbs, managing director, Southern Sheeting, said: “We are passionate about supporting grass roots football clubs and young people whenever we can. We regularly supply building materials to major football clubs

such as Salford FC so, this is a cause which is very close to our hearts. “As a business we like to do what we can to help our local community, so lending a hand at Ardingly Football Club during this historic year will bring our whole team a lot of joy.”

Richard Watson, Ardingly Football Club chairman, said: “We’re so pleased to welcome Southern Sheeting as our main club sponsor as we celebrate our 125th year. Our club is older than Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace so it’s wonderful to have this support from Southern Sheeting to ensure this piece of football history lives on.

Thompson & Parkes joins animal centre for community Thank You event

Builders’ merchants Thompson & Parkes joined in with Wolverley Animal Centre’s celebrations at their Community Thank You Afternoon. The builders merchant helped the centre with the supply of a range of building materials to help them build their new African House; the first inhabitants are meerkats Marvin and Lucky.

Centre manager Lucy Cull said: “Thompson & Parkes have been incredibly supportive and

engaged with our projects and it is great to work with a local supplier who takes an interest in the community.

General manager, Gary Watts, said: “We were pleased to be invited to their community afternoon and to see just how much they’ve achieved developing the centre over recent months, and of course to see their new African House up and running and meet Marvin and Lucky. As a local business we are happy to offer our support to Wolverley Animal Centre and pleased that we could help with the materials they needed for their new African House.”
