Crown Decorating Centres has launched a new store in Birkenhead, on Royal Standard Way, Tranmere.
Store manager Richie Molyneux said: “Birkenhead is home to a thriving painting and decorating industry, and with the support of our new store, it’s only going to go from strength to strength.

BMBI releases Q2 report 2025
The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report, produced by MRA Research , reveals builders’ merchants’ value sales for Q2 2025 were up 2.8% compared to Q2 2024, and volume sales were up 4.0% year-on-year, while prices came down 1.1%. With one less trading day this
year, like-for-like value sales were +4.5% higher. Nine of the report’s twelve categories sold more by value in Q2 2025 compared to the same quarter a year before, with value sales for Renewables & Water

Manufacturers stock up amid shipping delays Figures in the latest manufacturing report from inventory management specialist Unleashed, show that building and construction manufacturers are now building stock levels in a bid to maintain product availability and service levels in the face of longer lead times – which increased by nine days from Q1 to Q2.
