IOBM MEMBERSHIP MILESTONES
The Institute of Builders Merchants is developing its remit to promote and acknowledge experienced, qualified individuals working in the builders merchants industry.
IN SEPTEMBER 2023, the IoBM achieved a significant accomplishment by reaching over 1,200 members!

This milestone is a testament to the IoBM’s efforts to professionalise the Builders Merchants industry, and we are proud to have so many individuals join us on this mission. Since reaching this milestone, our membership has continued to grow to 1,216, with many more individuals signing up to be a part of our community. We are excited to welcome new members and look forward to working with them to promote the Builders Merchants industry and help it thrive. 48 Companies have now signed up as Corporate Supporters of
the IoBM, to show their support in advancing the profession of merchanting. Since our last article , VIP Polymers and Mentor Fork Lift Training have joined the IoBM. Of the current Corporate Supporters, 31 are supplier members, eight are merchant members, four service members and five buying group supporters. A “Your Voice” e-newsletter has been produced to keep
members informed and the fourth edition went out to Institute members on 17th October 2023. The IoBM had the honour of being the sponsor for the ‘Best Performing Online Student’ award at the BMF Annual Conference & Awards on 21st September 2023. The award was won by Michael Mouland, from Mid-Sussex Timber. We are proud to have contributed to this event and look forward to continuing our support for such initiatives in the future. The IoBM, who partnered with the BMJ Awards, had its Management Committee in attendance along with several IoBM members to honour the winners at the Award Ceremony on 28th September 2023. We extend our congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding achievements.

Airport. Jamie McGuinness MIBM, national accounts manager for SIG UK, was elected as the IoBM South East regional chair at this meeting. Congratulations to McGuiness on his new position!
