BMJ picks out some of the highlights of the 2025 NMBS Exhibition.
O
ver 1,000 visitors passed through the doors of the 2025 NMBS Exhibition in Coventry, seeing the displayed wares of 280 exhibitors. Attendees also took part in activities ranging from visiting the owl on the Owlett Jaton stand and meeting football icon John Barnes on the Artificial Grass stand to playing gravity darts on the Werner stand or having a hug with the Timco mascot Huggy. Chris Hayward, chief executive officer at NMBS, said: “The NMBS Exhibition is more than just a trade show, it’s an essential opportunity for independent merchants to build partnerships that enhance their competitive edge. This year’s event has once again demonstrated the strong relationships that make up our sector. We remain committed to supporting merchants and suppliers as they navigate the opportunities that this year will hopefully bring.” Jefferson Tools unveiled its Spring– Summer 2025 catalogue, and offered visitors to the stand the chance to win a 170 Bar Electric Pressure Washer by entering a free prize draw via an on-site tablet. ERA and Zoo Hardware joined forces to highlight how their comprehensive range of hardware solutions can work together. These included ERA’s hardware offerings, such as its new range of Matte Black Hardware, including 3 Lever, Bathroom and UKCA CE Tubular Latches as well as its 3 Lever Latches, Cylinders, Traditional Nightlatches, 5 Lever and BS 5 Lever Mortice Locks, Door Chains, and Tubular Latches available at the event. Zoo displayed its decorative ranges of contemporary door levers and accessories, alongside its newly refreshed Rosso Maniglie range of Italian-inspired levers, turn and release locks, and escutcheons. From Setcrete there was the Fast-Track Primer DMP, which creates a moisture barrier on screeds and concrete, while Unilin Flooring was showcasing its waterproof engineered wood flooring.
Attendees at the exhibition also saw
Fernco’s Floodbags, Anti-Flood Air Bricks and Air Brick Covers that offer practical alternatives to sandbags, providing quick and effective defences against rising water levels. DURO Yokota brought a new range of vacuum-brazed diamond core drills that
promise faster, cleaner drilling with less machine wear and dust creation, while Flex Tools introduced a new super lightweight ceiling and wall cordless palm sander, which will help reduce fatigue and simplify the sanding process for users. Ubbink UK Ltd’s new solar accessories were on the stand, and provide solar cable installations for pitched and flat roof applications that are watertight and help reduce roof space damage. Bond It’s Bamboo Wipes offer a fully viscose biodegradable alternative to traditional cleaning wipes, delivering trade-strength grime removal with biodegradable materials, while OB1’s BioBased Fast Grip Superglue was highlighted to mercants; it now contains 60% natural ingredients from castor oil. From the landscaping sector, Brett Landscaping’s Sigma block paving features advanced ChromaBlock Technology which enhances vibrancy while ensuring durability, and Pavestone was majoring on its super sustainable clay slimsetts. Crafted from 100%, sustainably sourced, natural clay from Holland, Slimsett block paving contains no artificial colours or additives, ensuring a rich, authentic hue that won’t fade over time. Wrekin Products Ltd extended its offering with a new range, of geopaving systems for driveways, pathways and patios. This allows end users to include deep gravel and grass pavers in the landscaping designs. Talon Manufacturing, meanwhile, offered merchants the chance to get hands-on with its new FlueSnug 5”, a flue seal designed to make gas boiler flue replacements smoother than ever. Ladder and access supplier Werner showcased its AdjustaStep PRO® step ladder, alongside key products the Odd Job 600, the 6 Tread Fibreglass Stepladder, the 4 Tread Fibreglass Stepladder, Leansafe

Werner also used the NMBS platform to raise awareness for the Maddie Rose movement, adding the colour yellow to its on-stand branding. Fisco’s range of Eclipse stainless steel lever hardware, was on show in five different finishes, while Instantor and Tucson were exhibiting the Instantor Press System, copper press and press tools alongside Tucson circulating pumps, shower pumps and the Tucson Universal Pump Head Replacement. After the first day of the exhibition, the NMBS Gala Dinner offered an evening of entertainment and networking with £4000 raised for construction charities Crash and the Rainy Day Trust. BMJ
