Pavestone Rally 2027 set to launch with £1m fundraising milestone in sight


The Pavestone Rally is gearing up for its 2027 return, with organisers calling on teams from across the builders’ merchant and construction sectors to sign up for what promises to be another memorable European adventure— while helping push total fundraising beyond the £1 million mark. Since its inception, the rally has become a standout event in the industry calendar, blending camaraderie, creativity and charity. Participants who have previously taken part will recognise that the experience goes far beyond simply driving across Europe. From mechanical mishaps and elaborate fancy dress to demanding route planning and unexpected challenges, the rally is as much about teamwork and shared experiences as it is about the journey itself.

Jewson kicks off Trade Cup competition


Jewson has partnered with CT1, Heidelberg Materials, SAM Mouldings, and VELUX to launch its Trade Cup competition. The competition offers tradespeople the chance to win a share of over £100,000 worth of prizes when they spend in branches around the UK. All customers need to do is spend £100 ex VAT or more on a collect order in any Jewson branch, between June 8 and July 18, which gives customers three chances to play the mobile penalty shootout game when they register online.


Customers can win prizes including tech, nights away, and football tickets.


There will also be a series of in-branch activities, including Top Bins and Beat the Mixer,

The route will begin in Paris before heading to Geneva, Locarno and Bolzano, ultimately finishing in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Along the way, participants can expect the usual mix of daily challenges, themed activities, bonus point opportunities and a few surprises designed to keep teams on their toes.


Charitable giving remains at the heart of the event. The 2027 rally will support Rainy Day Trust, CRASH, Band of Builders and Maddie’s Rose Foundation, alongside an additional charity chosen by each participating team. Entry fees have been confirmed, with early bird rates available until 31st October 2026. Prices are set at £1,049 per person for single rooms and £899 per person for twin rooms, rising thereafter. JELD-WEN site cats rehomed


Doorset manufacturer JELD-WEN has supported the rescue and rehoming of a group of stray cats found at its Retford Road manufacturing site, in partnership with local animal welfare charity Save A Stray.


As preparations began for the relocation of manufacturing operations to Bessemer Park, concerns grew for local stray “Timber”and family.

James Burrell Charity Golf Day drives fundraising success


Builders merchant James Burrell’s annual Charity Golf Day has raised more than £5000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Mind, its chosen charities of the year.

Held at Northumberland Golf Club, the event welcomed 18 teams for a day of golf, fundrais-ing and networking in support of the merchants chosen charities, taking their grand total to over £35,000. Throughout the event, attendees took part in a range of fundraising activities, including mulligans and a charity raffle featuring prizes donated by suppliers and customers.
