7. Vista Engineering Ltd launches double drip design for its Type 4 housing tie, the VE4-275
Vista Engineering Ltd has launched its new double drip design for its Type 4 housing tie, the VE4-275.
Previously this would have required a specific offset drip tie which, if installed the wrong way round, would mean the wall still has no drip in the clear cavity. The new VE4 has been created in such a way so that it can still be installed either way round without diminishing
performance and ensuring it cannot be installed incorrectly.
The product is ideal for working situations where there is no drip in the clear cavity, the new Vista VE4 can be used in standard cavities - this means there is no need to dual stock the new VE4s and no need to complicate the product selection.
All VE4 275mm Type 4 housing ties will now be manufactured using the new design. The new VE4-275 wall tie conforms to PD6697 as a Type 4 tie suitable for party walls at 126 to 150mm cavities.

provides power anywhere with its BAC01 Power Converter Makita has launched its BAC01 36V
Power Converter, which provides
professionals with convenient and unrestricted access to power.
The new solution converts power from Makita’s 36V battery packs to AC power for a wide range of applications – simply by connecting the PDC01 or PDC1200 battery pack to the power station.
It has been designed to support a variety of requirements, offering multiple outlets that include two AC outlets, two Type-A USB output ports, two Type C USB outlet ports and one DC12V cigar socket.
Its PDC1200 will power a 1000W load for 56 minutes, and the PDC01with 4x BL1860B batteries will power a 750W load for approximately 20 minutes.
Measuring just 39.5cm by 34.5cm by 16.3cm and weighing 7.3 kilos - which allows for easy transportation
With a nominal battery voltage of 36V, the BAC01 has a maximum power output of 2,800 W and continuous rating output of 1,400 W.
