F
ormed in 2018, as a subsidiary of Puidu- koda OU – Part of Groupe Rose French, Timber Focus, the Manchester-based timber importer and distributor has in- depth stockholdings at Harwich and a depot in Stoke-on-Trent, which offers a collect option for business customers.
Head of sales for UK and Ireland. Andrew Goto says that the company’s typical customers include the national merchant chains, independent timber and builders merchants and DIY Chains.
“Groupe Rose – Protac is one of the largest Independent machined softwood suppliers and therefore we are in a strong position as an importer and distributor as we have access to primary production of timber products to the UK Market ensuring fulfillment of contracts. We have no concerns regarding the bureaucracy of the potential interruptions of supply due to Brexit.”
The company’s key products include: machined cladding profiles, painted featheredge, premium dutch featheredge, premium timber claddings for interior and exterior applications, C24, timber decking, Siberian Larch in cladding and decking and Thermowood plastic composite products. Order Sizes will range from single loads to full vessels.
“We supply sustainable timber, mainly the SertiWOOD range with a minimum 10-year
coating performance, and also fire retardant timber cladding to Euro Class B for internal and external applications. In Siberian Larch we also supply pre aged old look silvery grey weathered timber cladding, which is requires very little maintenance if any depending on application. We use a special treatment with has a reactive property giving the timber a uniform silvery grey when exposed to the elements this becomes uniform after a few
weeks of installation,” Goto continues. The factory finishing option means timber can be supplied pre painted or pre finished in a factory environment and the standard machined profiles in softwood for decking, cladding and profiles in whitewood can be delivered treated and untreated to merchants or direct to projects based on minimum half loads. “We have seen a big demand in our products for 2021 and we are looking at developing more partners in the C24, Timber Decking and Value-added Timber Cladding. We are offering all our new merchant distributors promotional materials for timber cladding,” Goto says. BMJ
