Worcester Bosch unveils new heat pump mascot

Worcester Bosch, the multi-tech heating technology manufacturer, has introduced its new heat pump mascot alongside an updated design for its longstanding boiler mascot ‘Bobby’.

The new heat pump made its debut at InstallerSHOW last week with the company running a competition on-site for installers to vote on what Bobby’s new friend should be called.

With over 350 installers voting, ‘Harley the Heat

Pump’ was the most popular name, beating the likes of Huxley, Henny and Hadley.

Bobby became a central character in the children’s book ‘Picture A Greener Future’ published by the manufacturer in 2006 with over 400,000 copies distributed to date.

Nicola Fisher, PR manager at Worcester Bosch, said; “We are delighted to launch our next-gen Bobby, and his new heat pump buddy Harley, to the installer community. It was time we introduced a heat pump mascot given how much the UK heating market has changed. There is a now a greater need for multi-tech

options when it comes to keeping our homes warm. It also felt fitting to give Bobby a makeover to better reflect the sleek designs of boilers we sell today.”

Lawsons extends support for Christ’s Hospital School

Builders merchant Lawsons is funding an annual scholarship for a pupil to attend Christ’s Hospital School in Sussex. The Lawson family has long maintained a private association with this unique institution and this association has now extended into formal support by the company’s charitable fund.

Founded in 1552 on the wishes of King Edward VI, Christ’s Hospital was established “to educate and nourish the destitute children of the city”. The leading independent school now offers free or substantially reduced fees to over 670 of their 830 boarders, significantly more than any other independent school in the country. Chairman Simon Lawson says: “As a business that prides itself on creating development pathways for our staff, it was a very natural step for us to support a charitable institution which offers an outstanding education and excellent pastoral care to young people, irrespective of background. It is a privilege to work with Christ’s Hospital to enrich and enhance the life of a young student.” As a corporate donor to the school, Lawsons will help to raise awareness and understanding of the supported entry pathways to the school amongst staff and customers.
