eco-friendly Eco-Friendly Habits Rise Each Year

The mark we leave on the planet is steadily becoming something many of us are conscious about. Making changes in our everyday lives to ensure we are leaving less pollution and adopting cleaner habits. Lakeland have recognised this and have begun to explore what they can provide around the house for the eco-friendly conscious customer.

s we step into a greener and eco- conscious future, companies are noticing the demand for sustainably made and long-lasting products. Many of us are becoming mindful of the impact we are we have on the planet as our attentions are captured by the likes of David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg. On average each person in England and Wales produces up to 500kg of household waste each year. Making small changes to our everyday lives and developing our awareness of just how much single-use, disposable items were using in our kitchens or homes can begin to address the wider issue of climate change and the role we can have as individuals. Lakeland’s 2020 trends report highlighted

that year on year consumers are still enthusiastic to recycle, reuse and reduce their waste. In many cases, they want to go further and incorporate more healthy habits. Popularity of programmes, such as BBC’s Blue Planet II, contributes to demonstrating the harsh realities of environmental waste and the greater impact it has on the world beyond our home. Despite the move towards eco-conscious products there is still a level of disparity between what can and can’t be recycled. This is because there is a difficulty in recycling some products or because some items are problematic to recycle because they are inherently bad for the environment. Lakelands trend report further explored the

top eco-problems that frustrate consumers the most, some of these include, confusing recycling labels (16%), disposable facemasks (15%), the amount of cardboard used by online retailers (9%), forgetting to bring your bag for life when going to the supermarket (8%), amongst other statistics. With a rise in eco-friendly products some are opting for options that were regarded as niche
