Exclusively shows join forces with bira B

rooke House Exhibitions, the owner of co-located trade shows Exclusively Housewares &

Exclusively Electrical, has announced a joint initiative for 2018 with the British Independent Retailers Association (bira). Bira will have a stand presence at the show

for the first time and a raft of new joint marketing activities will be undertaken to promote the event to bira’s independent retail members, encouraging them to attend. They will be offered complimentary

overnight accommodation, show refreshments and an invitation to the Exclusively summer party. The Exclusively shows will be held on June 12 and June 13 at the Business Design Centre at Islington in north London. Launched in 2002, Exclusively Housewares

attracts key buyers from all sectors of the housewares market, from specialist cookshops and general homeware and hardware stores to major department stores, garden centres, mail order and internet companies. Sister show Exclusively Electrical made its debut in 2015 and is aimed specifically at suppliers and retailers of small kitchen and domestic appliances (SKA and SDA). Show director Simon Boyd said: “We’re

delighted to have reached agreement to work closely with bira to support the independent sector. The Exclusively shows offer retailers an excellent opportunity to view the latest innovation in homewares, tabletop and SDA products ahead of the key Christmas buying period. The retail sector remains highly challenging. We’re sure that our co- operation with bira will offer members a competitive edge.” He added: “A highlight of our activities is the

new Golden Ticket Initiative, designed to result in pounds in the pockets for all those placing orders at the shows. More details will be unveiled in February via our website and on social media.”

Bira head of marketing, PR and events Sarah

Arnesen commented: “We’re really pleased to be working closely with Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical and to have a show presence in 2018 for the first time. This will enable us to better support our members and the independent retail sector. “We recognise that the event is a key buying

opportunity, and we know many of our members already attend. Our team is looking forward to being on hand to offer advice and information on bira’s many services.”
