Simplehuman says its new rectangular sensor bins have fast, accurate, voice recognition. ‘Just say “open can” and the lid opens automatically,’ the company claims. ‘The bin also has a motion sensor so it opens with a wave of your hand, and it’s smart enough to adapt to you and the surrounding environment – no false triggers, no unexpected lid closures.’

Ambiente will give buyers the chance to see BergHOFF’s vast product portfolio, including GEM cast aluminium cookware. Billed as ‘the perfect combination of form and function’, several pieces feature easy- click detachable handles, so you can use it on the hob as a pan with the handle, in the oven without the handle and then take it to the table, transformed to a piece of serveware. The base features a full disc for superior heat distribution on all hobs and the interior is non-stick.

2017 was the first time üutensil exhibited at Ambiente, using it as the launchpad for a new colour, teal, on its award-winning Stirr automatic pan stirrer. This year, Stirr is again the main focus, now with the addition of a light-up timer, StirrTime. Also on show will be sister brand, Litecup – a ‘no spill’ children’s drinking cup with an integrated night light. New for 2018 is an adult edition: the hydration bottle Litecup Sports.
