GLOBAL HVACR WOMEN WEEK INVITES THE INTERNATIONAL SECTOR TO BUILD ONE CONNECTED COMMUNITY
W
omen, organisations and colleagues throughout the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration sector are being invited to take part in the fi rst Global HVACR Women Week, from 25–31
October 2026. Under the central message, “Local voices. Global connections. One HVACR
community,” the Week will bring together people and organisations across countries, regions, generations and established professional networks. Its purpose is to help local voices fi nd one another, share knowledge and build relationships that can continue long after the Week itself. Rather than being a single centrally organised event, Global HVACR Women
Week will provide a shared international focal point for activities created by groups, organisations, workplaces and individuals around the world. Everyone taking part will be encouraged to reach beyond their usual circle
by involving someone from another group, territory, organisation or generation. This might mean inviting an international guest to a webinar, connecting two groups in diff erent countries, involving a student or early-career colleague, off ering a fi rst-time speaker an opportunity, or opening an existing activity to a new audience. Stephen Gill, initiator of Global HVACR Women Week and founder of World
Refrigeration Day, said: “Global HVACR Women Week is about building a community that lasts
beyond one week. There are remarkable women, strong networks and valuable knowledge throughout our sector, but many people and groups remain disconnected from one another. The Week gives us a reason to reach beyond our usual circles—to listen to a
voice from another country, connect with another organisation, involve another generation and create space for someone who may not normally be heard. This is not something for women or women’s groups to carry alone.
Everyone in HVACR can show up, speak up and lift others up. Every new connection will help us build one stronger global HVACR community.” Activities may include webinars, technical or professional discussions, interviews, podcasts, group and individual features, student engagement, workplace activities, physical or virtual events and cross-border conversations. They do not need to be large activities. An existing meeting, publication, interview, webinar or event can become part of the Week. People can become involved by:
¡ organising or adapting an activity during 25–31 October; ¡ inviting someone from another country, group, organisation or generation; ¡ sharing a technical, professional or personal perspective; ¡ connecting two groups or communities that could learn from one another; ¡ interviewing or profi ling women working across the sector; ¡ creating an opportunity for an emerging or fi rst-time speaker; ¡ attending and supporting activities organised by others; ¡ adding a photograph to the 2026 global community collage, creating a visible picture of women across the international HVACR community; or ¡ sharing their plans with the organisers as the international programme develops.
The inaugural Week begins on 25 October, the birthday of Margaret Ingels, a pioneering American engineer whose work advanced the understanding of air conditioning, ventilation and human comfort. To learn more, take part or share an activity, visit:

ollowing its AGM, leading energy trade body, Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA), has announced its new
President. Henrik Juhl Hansen, managing director of Vaillant Group UK & Ireland, and a senior industry leader at the forefront of shaping the energy transition, takes the helm for the next 12 months. Welcoming the election of the new
President, Mike Foster the chief executive of EUA said: “Henrik is a strong advocate for a pragmatic, whole-system approach to decarbonising heat. He believes that there is no single solution, and that progress will depend on a balanced mix of technologies, supported by clear policy, long-term investment and a resilient energy system. This is the very essence of what EUA calls for. “Henrik has already played a key role in the rebranding of EUA and we look

forward to building upon our strengths, guided by his 30 years of international leadership, to make sure EUA remains the body where the whole of the heating industry is given a voice.” Henrik said: “I look forward to the fresh challenge of being President of EUA,
a trade body that can look back over 100 years of history and looks forward to meeting the challenges of the energy transition. Working with over 250 member companies is a privilege and a great responsibility as we drive forward with the changes the UK needs in adapting to a low carbon future.”
