Committing to IEQ when operating gas-fired water heating
W
ith a high-efficiency pre-mix Fecralloy burner, such as employed in the
Adveco MD & AD / ADplus product ranges, ideal combustion efficiency can be achieved up to 107% (net)/98% (gross) reducing energy costs and producing ultra-low emissions.
The low CO (19ppm) and especially ultra-low NOx (27mg/kWh) emissions, from a hot water system built around a high-efficiency condensing water heater or boiler (Class 6 appliance) easily satisfy the requirements of the current Energy-related Products (ErP) directive. It is also worth mentioning that regular servicing is important for identifying or preventing cases of damaging corrosion (in soft water areas) and limescale build-up (in harder water areas) which can lead to leaks in any hot water system. If unchecked, the resultant damp can encourage the growth of mould producing airborne spores. More sense ventilation with Nuaire’s iSense-Plus dMEV fan
T
he new iSense-Plus from Nuaire, part of the Genuit group, is a decentralised mechanical extract ventilation (dMEV) fan designed to provide Building Regulations compliant continuous background extract ventilation for new build residential properties.
iSense-Plus is a cost effective alternative to
whole house mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) systems. Instead of working on a whole house basis, these compact, unobtrusive fans are individually installed in wet rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens, extracting moisture laden air from the areas most in need. They feature an adjustable internal humidistat, and intelligent run-on timer to operate to the users’ lifestyle via ‘auto’ mode or can be fully adjustable. The new iSense-Plus dMEV has been designed for straightforward installation. It can be fitted to walls and ceilings for maximum design flexibility. n intelligent decision in utilising an intelligent spring could help improve occupant health and performance alongside savings in energy and manufacturing time.
The “super spring” is a core component of Gilberts’ latest GSJ adjustable thermal swirl diffusers.
Utilising an advanced thermally reactive spring as a core component of Gilberts’ latest GSJ adjustable thermal swirl, the diffuser now has a reaction time, and therefore temperature adjustment, occurring within seconds. Some other thermally actuated diffusers can take up to 60 minutes to adjust.
Triggered by the temperature of the incoming air (usually when it varies by 2°C from pre-set boundaries) the intelligent spring instantly adjusts the omni-rotational diffuser vanes, delivering warm air vertically and cooler air horizontally. This process ensures rapid initial warm up, and avoidance of uncomfortable draughts. Quickly controlling the airflow direction to maintain a comfortable environment in the internal space below, it only takes seconds to restore the equilibrium, whether through exposed ductwork, ceiling grids, clip-in ceilings or perforated ceilings. Occupant comfort is consistently maintained. “It’s all about making life easier and better for everyone. Improving occupant comfort without adding cost. Samsung Climate Solutions announces high temperature rating on MCS for EHS Mono HT Quiet range

amsung Climate Solutions has announced the full EHS Mono HT Quiet range (8kW, 12kW, 14kW) has achieved 65 degrees Celsius high temperature rating on MCS.
The 8kW (AE080BXYDEG/EU) tested at SCOP 2.82 at 65 degrees Celsius, the 12kW (AE120BXYDEG/EU) tested at SCOP 3.01 at 65 degrees Celsius, and the 14kW (AE140BXYDEG/EU) tested at SCOP 3.03 at 65 degrees Celsius. Joseph Raftery, heating product manager at Samsung Climate Solutions, said: “Since MCS have changed the threshold for heat pump listing, from 2.4 SCOP to 2.8 SCOP, this has made listing at 65 degrees extremely difficult to achieve. With the support of our fantastic R&D facilities, Samsung Climate Solutions rose to this challenge. This has resulted in a heat pump, the EHS Mono HT Quiet, that can deliver total performance down to minus 25 degrees ambient conditions, as well as high temperature capabilities, and of course, it’s Samsung’s quietest heat pump yet and Quiet Mark certified. We are truly proud of this amazing evolution in heat pump technology and performance.”
