Mitsubishi Electric Livingstone factory marks 30th anniversary in 2023 T

he year 2023 is a memorable year for Mitsubishi Electric. This year, Mitsubishi Electric, the UK’s largest manufacturer of heat pumps marked the 30th anniversary of its factory in Livingston,

Scotland; produced its fifth-million product - the new Ecodan R290 air source heat pump for residential buildings; and announced its dedicated Ecodan heat pump warehouse in West Hallam to add resilience in its supply chain.

Established in 1993, the Livingston factory has been manufacturing air

conditioning units for 30 years and producing heat pumps for installation across the UK and Europe since 2009. Today, it is the largest heat pump manufacturer in the UK, employing 1,840 people. Continued investment has seen the Livingston factory expand and grow in heat pump production. To mark the occasion, Mitsubishi Electric hosted an anniversary event at the factory on 6th July with key government and industry figures. The anniversary was also marked with the factory producing its fifth-

million product - the new Ecodan R290 air source heat pump. With its low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant, and flow temperatures of up to 75°C, the R290 heat pump brings unbeatable benefits for home heating. As a frontrunner in the renewable products industry, Mitsubishi Electric

recognises the importance of providing its customers with reliable and eco-friendly solutions, ensuring a positive impact on the environment and driving the transition to a greener, net zero future. The company’s dedication to providing efficient and sustainable solutions

is exemplified by its successful delivery of heat pumps to customers across the nation within an on-time delivery framework from its dedicated and ideally placed warehouse in West Hallam to serve its customers.

The company’s commitment to supply chain resilience is deeply rooted in its mission to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. It understands the urgency to address the challenges posed by climate change, and its continuous efforts are focused on providing customers with high-quality heat pumps and cylinders promptly and efficiently. The company’s robust supply chain network, combined with its

warehouse in West Hallam, enables Mitsubishi Electric to fulfil orders for heat pumps with speed and reliability. This agile approach allows customers to receive Ecodan heat pumps and cylinders without delays, making a significant contribution to reducing carbon footprints while enhancing energy efficiency.
