EnviroVent expands its range with SAP 10 & Building Regulations- compliant ventilation units

E

nviroVent, one of the UK’s leading ventilation manufacturers, has released two new and improved Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) units, which are SAP 10 compliant and meet the latest Building Regulation requirements.

The ECO dMEV+ range, includes the ECO dMEV+ and ECO dMEV+LC. Both are SAP 10 listed, which means they meet the requirements of Approved Document L, Conservation of fuel and power, Volume 1: Dwellings, 2021 edition incorporating 2023 amendments. The two fan ranges offer housebuilders and developers a constant volume, continuously running fans with an intermittent control option for the LC version. These decentralised extract fan solutions have been designed to achieve the lowest power, noise, running costs and installed performance. Ultra quiet and eco-friendly, the new ECO dMEV+ and LC units feature a low watt DC motor mounted on silent elastic blocks, to deliver incredibly quiet running below 20 Db(A). Designed with a stylish appearance, the ECO dMEV+ fans are suitable for all domestic applications and are available with a choice of interchangeable front panel trims in four colours.

Mark Isles, new build director at EnviroVent, said: “The new dMEV units have so many appealing features, particularly their ease of installation and commissioning, quiet but powerful performance, aesthetics and their low maintenance.”

LOCTITE® keeps things sealed at PHEX shows

T

he expertise of LOCTITE® in supporting the plumbing industry will be on display this autumn with stands at PHEX North (Stand 70) at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester, on 18th and 19th October and at PHEX South (Stand 74) on 22nd and 23rd November at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge Stadium.

Visitors to the LOCTITE stands will witness live demonstrations of its thread sealing solutions which are now the installers choice for a reliable and fast seal, LOCTITE 55 and LOCTITE 577. With its immediate full pressure sealing qualities, LOCTITE 55 is the fast, easy general purpose, threaded pipe and fitting sealant designed for sealing of metal and plastic pipes and fittings. The product also has approval for gas and potable water certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61, WRAS, DVGW and BAM approvals – meaning one product covers a multitude of applications.

LOCTITE 577 is a liquid anaerobic pipe sealing product. It is a medium-strength thread sealant, meaning it is designed to be undone with hand tools should the need ever arise. It can be used on both parallel/parallel and parallel/taper threads and fittings and fills the space between threaded parts and locks the part at the same time. Ideal for threads with short engagement lengths, parts that need sealing and locking in a certain position e.g. an outside tap, plus can be used to seal olives and oil line fittings.

Uponor makes light work of underfloor heating for retrofits

U

ponor has launched the Siccus Mini underfloor heating system.

Suitable for refurbishment projects due to its low-construction height of just

15mm, it is easy to install on an existing floor, allowing more properties to benefit from an energy efficient radiant heating system. Furthermore, its ultra-thin, close to floor design allows the Siccus Mini system to deliver 90% of the desired temperature in just 50 minutes. Installation of Uponor’s Siccus Mini underfloor heating system can be undertaken by one trade professional and installed on top of an existing floor. The added benefit is that the new top surface can be laid immediately without having to factor in any screed drying times, which means the job can be completed quickly and easily.

Once installed, the reliable Siccus Mini achieves a 34% higher heating capacity than conventional dry systems and uses 31% less heat energy than radiators. The system’s proximity to the floor’s surface means the system is fast to reach the desired temperature when compared to conventional dry systems, which need over two hours, and wet systems, which need over three hours.

James Griffiths, senior manager marketing North-West Europe at Uponor

said: “Siccus Mini provides a high performance, low energy system that is straightforward to install and future proofs installations switching to heat pumps or hybrid heating systems in the future.”
