Clivet announces new generation of air conditioning units for WLHP systems designed for multi-zone environments

C

livet has launched VERSATEMP, the new generation of stand- alone air-conditioning units for water-loop systems, which heat and cool rooms all year-round using water as the heat source. “The main advantage of WLHP

water-loop systems is that they allow different areas of the same building to be heated and cooled simultaneously,” explains Damiano Rossi, product manager at Clivet, “For example, if a south-facing office requires cooling and a north-facing one requires heating, the energy and heat dissipated by the units in cooling mode are transferred

directly to the water loop and reused by the units in heating mode. This automatically balances the temperature of the loop and minimises the need for the outdoor units to operate, thereby reducing overall energy consumption.”

“The new generation of VERSATEMP units comprises two extremely compact and self-contained versions, ideal for both new builds and the replacement of old systems thanks to their perfect compatibility with existing hydraulic, aeraulic and electrical connections: VERSATEMP FLOOR (1 to 3 kW), a vertical model available in either cased or uncased versions with an elegant finish that blends seamlessly into any interior, and VERSATEMP DUCT (2 to 28 kW), a ceiling-mounted ducted solution designed for horizontal installations in small and medium-sized spaces. “Thanks to the use of the refrigerants R290 (VERSATEMP FLOOR) and R454C (VERSATEMP DUCT), the entire VERSATEMP series already complies with the first stage of the F-Gas Regulation due in January ’27. https://www.clivetgroup.co.uk/en/

Nuaire and Monodraught strengthen relations with new product integration module

uaire and Monodraught are strengthening their relationship as ventilation specialists within the Genuit Group with the launch of EC-Link, a new integration module that brings products from both businesses together on a single intelligent control and monitoring platform. Developed initially with the education sector in mind, EC-Link provides the bridge between Nuaire’s EcoSmart Classic controls platform and Monodraught’s Acuity central monitoring and control system. It enables Nuaire and Monodraught ventilation equipment to be controlled and monitored as part of a coordinated, whole-building ventilation solution. EC-Link enables Nuaire products to be used with Monodraught’s Modena wall controller, creating a consistent user interface across the combined ventilation system. Modena incorporates temperature and CO2 sensing and allows occupants to adjust fan speed and temperature set points through its touchscreen interface.

EC-Link is available for use with all Monodraught units and a range of Nuaire products including XBOXER commercial heat recovery units, Aire-Volve single and twin fans, and DAVE high-performance supply and extract box single fans.

Ihsaan Hassen, product manager commercial at Nuaire, said: “Monodraught has sophisticated control and remote monitoring technology in Acuity and Modena, while Nuaire has an extensive mechanical ventilation portfolio and strong whole-building capabilities. EC-Link creates the connection between them.

“For consultants and contractors working on schools in particular, this means they can select the ventilation approach best suited to different areas of the building without ending up with separate systems that need to be managed independently.” www.nuaire.co.uk

Showersave technology helps cut hot water energy demand at flagship leisure centre

S

howersave, part of The Keystone Group, has collaborated with TClarke and Hillingdon Council to install its Multivert Waste Water Heat Recovery (WWHR) technology at the Platinum Jubilee Leisure Centre, helping to reduce the energy required to produce hot water.

As part of the new centre’s

commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, Showersave’s Multivert system was installed to reduce the energy

required to heat water for the centre’s 20 showers. Designed specifically for high-demand commercial applications, the Multivert system incorporates four QB1-12 WWHR units. It recovers heat from wastewater generated by the showers and uses it to preheat incoming cold mains water before it reaches the calorifier tanks. By reusing heat that would otherwise be lost down the drain, the system provides a passive way to reduce the centre’s hot water energy load. The Multivert system is designed to simplify installation and provides continuous energy savings without affecting the building’s aesthetics or the user experience.

Offering up to a 35-40 per cent reduction in the energy required to heat shower water, the system can also help to reduce CO2 emissions by recovering waste heat that would otherwise be lost.

Ross McIntosh, project engineer at TClarke, said: “Showersave’s Multivert proved to be the most robust and fit-for-purpose solution for the project. It was straightforward to install and provides an effective, simple method of improving energy efficiency by recovering heat from shower wastewater and reusing it to preheat incoming cold water.” sales@showersave.com www.showersave.com

Back to basics as EHC launches latest boiler T

he Electric Heating Company (EHC) has gone back to basics with the launch of its latest boiler.

Bosses believe the new Comet System boiler, which is an updated version of its bestselling Comet PV, will prove even more popular with homeowners looking for simplicity over sophistication. In electric heating, more features are not always better as installers, homeowners and building owners look for simple, reliable and cost-effective products.

“More features don’t automatically make for a better installation,” said David Barrett, chief executive of EHC, which has grown into a leading supplier of energy-efficient electric heating and hot water products. EHC has addresses this with the Comet System, an electric boiler that’s been deliberately kept simple and cost effective, being up to £210 cheaper than the Comet PV. “That doesn’t mean cutting corners on performance or quality, though,” said Barrett. “It just means focusing on what actually matters: a reliable product, a straightforward

install, and heating that does exactly what homeowners expect it to, all backed up with EHC’s great pre and post-sales support. “For homeowners, a lot of extra features never even get noticed, let alone used. What they actually want is pretty simple: reliable heating and hot water, easy controls, and a system that just works. “The new Comet System boiler’s compact design makes it easier to handle, and easy-fit connectors and sensors take the hassle out of installation and commissioning. With a range of output options across single and three-phase models, installers can pick the right spec for the job without piling on unnecessary complexity.” https://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/
