Ideal Heating launches new Imax Xtra 2 cascade installation video
N
ew from Ideal Commercial Heating is an installation video designed specifically for
contractors and commercial heating engineers who want to see just how fast a high-performance cascade system can come together. The video follows the assembly of three 80kW Imax Xtra 2 floor standing commercial condensing boilers in real time, demonstrating a complete build from first part to final connection, ultimately achieving up to 840kW of heating capacity in under 90 minutes.
Rather than a traditional product overview, the video focuses squarely on the practical on-site assembly experience. Every step is time- stamped, showing the installers’ progress as they position the wheeled boilers, align them using the prefabricated header kits, and hydraulic separation. The end result is a fully built three-boiler cascade assembled more quickly than many expect from a floor standing commercial system. The Imax Xtra 2’s compact footprint enabling it to fit through standard doorways, along with being fitted with wheels as standard, are key contributors to the speed of the installation, along with fast unpacking via fully recyclable packaging and the lack of requirement for specialist tools.
The Imax Xtra 2 range spans 80kW to 280kW models, all offering Class 6 NOx performance and the option to cascade up to four boilers for a total output of 1120kW. Hydraulic separation is available via plate heat exchangers, low loss headers or magnetic low loss headers, allowing system protection to be configured to suit the application.

Hamworthy delivers hybrid heating solution at Grantham Health Centre
amworthy Heating supplied a
high-performance hybrid heating system to Grantham Health Centre in Lincolnshire, helping the facility reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency, and ensure reliable heating for patients and staff. Delivered in partnership with contractors Arthur Pollard Ltd, the solution combines Hamworthy’s Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boilers with a Tyneham 50kW 290HT air source heat pump – a proven solution that provides a resilient, future-ready system tailored to the demanding requirements of the healthcare sector. The project replaces the centre’s three ageing gas boilers with a modern hybrid system designed to maximise efficiency, reduce running costs, and align with strict carbon reduction targets. Using Hamworthy’s Tyneham high temperature heat pump as the primary heat source in milder weather, with Stratton mk3 boilers providing back-up in colder months, the system delivers reliable performance all year round. Supported by a 500L buffer vessel with back up heater and controlled via a Building Management System (BMS), the compact equipment was seamlessly integrated into the existing heating infrastructure, avoiding invasive internal alterations.
Paul Jones, Regional Capital Project Lead Midlands at NHS Property Services (NHSPS), commented: “The recent heating upgrade at Grantham Health Centre exemplifies our commitment to sustainability and future- proofing our facilities. This project is a testament to our dedication to creating sustainable healthcare environments that are equipped to meet the evolving needs of our communities.”
