ith the shift toward greener buildings and renewable energy, low-temperature heating and cooling systems are becoming

the norm - even in small commercial premises. Schools, small offices, community hubs or modest multi-occupancy blocks are increasingly pairing technologies such as heat pumps, pellet boilers or solar thermal with underfloor heating or low- temperature radiators. But this trend comes certain challenges for system designers and installers and failure
to address them will lead to the production of destructive contaminants, noise, whilst needing to manage the dissolved gases within the system water – principally oxygen and nitrogen.
Positioning a deaerator
It’s not always obvious where to fit a deaerator, but the best location is usually on the flow side. In traditional heating systems that are run at high temperatures, deaerators are usually fitted at the hottest part of the

system or right at the top, where heat naturally drives air and gases to rise and escape. However, in low-temperature, low-pressure
