ELCO HEATING SOLUTIONS
ELCO Heating Solutions has further strengthened its range of high efficiency commercial gas boilers with the launch of
the new wall-hung THISION L PLUS and floor standing TRIGON L PLUS. Benefiting from the company’s advanced engineering capabilities, these are the next generation of ELCO boilers, offering powerful performance for flexible installation and simple maintenance.
The new boilers have been designed to cater for modern heating demands, boasting a wealth of features and benefits that enable them to be fitted in many commercial applications – either as single units or in cascade. Plus, as plant rooms decrease in size, the new boilers have followed suit, with their impressive footprint to power ratio offering greater levels of flexibility and allowing for installation in tighter spaces. Both the THISION L PLUS and TRIGON L PLUS offer outputs of 60 to 200kW from a single boiler and up to 1.6MW in cascade, as well as extremely low NOx emissions (<24mg/kWh).

BAXI HEATING
Baxi Heating has expanded its commercial hot water storage portfolio with the launch of new cylinder and buffer vessel ranges. The Remtank 316 Stainless Steel cylinder
range provides a flexible, low maintenance solution for sustained heat in buildings with year-round heat demands. The 8-bar cylinders are available in single and twin coils from 300 to 1,000 litres. The new Flexistor cylinder range is designed for applications where an independent hot water system is required. These high quality, low maintenance cylinders are available in 6 or 10-bar with storage capacities from 400 to 2,500 litres. Andrews Water Heaters has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of a range of 316 stainless steel 10-bar pressure Duplex cylinders from 300 to 2,500 litres. With a choice of single or twin coils, they are designed to meet even the toughest commercial demands. The range of glass-lined buffer vessels meets a project requirement for additional hot water storage or can be used with a continuous flow water heater like the SUPAflo EVO.

DWYER The Series IEFB, from Dwyer, is a field-adjustable
insertion thermal energy meter that uses electromagnetic technology to accurately and reliably measure fluid velocity and energy consumption. The high accuracy IEFB is adjustable to fit pipe sizes from 100 to 250 mm (4 to 10”), while the standard accuracy IEFB fits pipe sizes 100 to 900 mm (4 to 36”). The IEFB incorporates a temperature meter and a calculator into a single unit. The LCD display provides clear readings of the meter’s values, including temperature and energy consumption, making it ideal for installation on chillers, boilers, and other heating and cooling applications. The high measuring accuracy and long lifetime keeps annual operating costs at a minimum. In addition, it offers several output options, including selectable BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU communications protocol over 2-wire RS-485 and standard analogue, frequency, and alarm outputs.

FRESE
Frese BYPASS provides deep insight into your district energy network, allowing you to optimise energy efficiency by lowering temperature and reducing pressure.
Controlling the flow in your district energy network no longer needs to be a guessing game. With the new bypass solution from Danish valve manufacturer Frese you will be able to monitor, operate and control your systems remotely, thereby ensuring significant savings on energy as well as on your bottom line.
“We are focusing on ways to add intelligence to components in district energy networks in order to increase their value to both service providers and customers,” says Martin Overbjerg, business development manager for district energy at Frese. Frese BYPASS consists of an old favourite: The Frese OPTIMA Compact PICV, which is a PICV and a new, intelligent and battery-operated controller, which enables remote operation of the valve.

LOCHINVAR
Boiler, water heater and heat pump company Lochinvar has provided 20 condensing gas-fired water heaters as part of a major upgrade of plant rooms at eight schools in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The manufacturer, which has been providing hot water solutions for educational buildings for more than 40 years, formed a strategic partnership with HCP. HCP opted for Lochinvar’s high efficiency, condensing technology because it reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions while providing improved reliability and longevity. The models chosen from Lochinvar’s EcoKnight range have efficiencies ranging from 93 to 95%, which also comfortably meets current regulations. The schools expect to achieve savings in energy consumption and carbon emissions of around 15%. The plant rooms now feature two water heaters alongside two SST stainless steel storage vessels. EcoKnight water heaters can provide hot water outputs ranging from 709 to 3,819 litres per hour, based on a temperature rise of 50ºC.

SBS
Smiths Brothers Stores has announce the opening of its first Scottish branch this summer. SBS Glasgow will join the Smith Brothers branch network, taking the total number of locations up to 16 across England, Wales and now Scotland. SBS Glasgow will trade from Clyde Gateway East, located on the south side of London Road. The site is close to junction 2A on the M74 and is just a 10-minute drive away from Glasgow’s city centre. The ultra-modern unit consists of 16,500ft2. With over 15 years working in the industry, Scott Gilmour has been appointed as branch manager and will introduce the Smith Brothers ethos of Staff, Stock and Service to Glasgow customers.
In 2019, SBS introduced a team to support Northern Ireland based customers. The addition of SBS Glasgow means Smith Brothers will now support the HVAC industry across the whole United Kingdom.
