ADVECO
ADplus, from Adveco, is a range of high-power gas-fi red condensing water heaters. The three variants with 70 kW, 115 kW and 140 kW rated heat output each feature an integrated 120-litre stainless steel water storage tank instantly providing continuous and on-demand DHW. Heat is provided by the patented Fecralloy premix burner fed by a consistent balanced air/gas ratio at each point of turndown. The high modulation ratio results in high combustion effi ciency with ultra-low NOX (Class 6 appliance at 27 mg/kWh)and CO emissions (19ppm). A built-in fl ue back preventer on the combustion circuit prevents possible fl ue gas recirculation between diff erent exchangers. The 115kW and 140kW ADplus variants off er two high-quality heat exchangers. Constructed from a corrosive-resistant continuous run of AISI 316Ti titanium-stabilised stainless steel, these provide balanced highly effi cient operation and built-in redundancy. With minimal NOX and CO emissions, the ADplus range is an eco-friendly way to serve your building’s DHW system.

ELCO
When a secondary academy received funding to replace its ageing heating plant, ELCO Heating Solutions was on-hand to supply a new, highly sustainable hybrid system.
The solution involved combining two 48kW AEROTOP®M commercial heat pumps with two 120kW THISION®L ECO wall-mounted condensing gas boilers. Plus, the project is contributing to a combined carbon saving of 134 tonnes per year.
Commenting on the project James Robinson said: “This was a fantastic job to work on and it’s been a pleasure to install a system that will make a dramatic impact to the day-to-day running costs of the academy. GILBERTS
Two into one does go with advancements to Gilberts’ natural ventilation accessories in line with changes to Building Regulations and guidance. Its latest Series VN-S unit not only addresses noise attenuation into the internal space but is also fully non-combustible.
The Series VN-S range of acoustic silencers for natural ventilation provide sound reduction with a choice of fi ve depths (from 100-600mm) between 19- 49dBA, depending on unit size and further infl uenced by the degree of open free area (from 30-50%). The units can be fi tted in air intake and air transfer applications. Thus external noise and/or noise nuisance/breakout between spaces is minimised. Tested to BS EN 10140-2 2010, the silencers are fully compliant with BB93 for acoustics within schools.
Importantly for any public or commercial building using natural ventilation, the Series VN-S is also fully non-combustible. This delivers compliance with the latest Building Regulations Approved Document F 2021.

CARRIER
A new air conditioning system with high-effi ciency Carrier screw chillers has been installed at London’s iconic 111 Buckingham Palace Road. Tenants occupying the building now benefi t from indoor comfort provided by two Carrier AquaForce®30XBE air-cooled chillers, installed by Leonari for Savills’ consultancy division. Delivering a combined total of 2.4MW of cooling, the chillers are equipped with variable speed fan motors to minimise noise levels and maximise energy savings, delivering a seasonal energy effi ciency ratio (SEER) for cooling of up to 4.6. Due to the sensitive location in the heart of London, the project was logistically challenging, and involved tight space limitations due to the restricted rooftop location for the chillers. “It required a very compact solution with specifi c dimensions and upper weight limit,’ said Stathis Londos, founder and MD of contractor Leonari. ‘The client also required excellent energy effi ciency to align with their high environmental performance standards. The Carrier solution was the one that fully met the requirements.”

IDEAL HEATING
Ideal Heating commercial has been awarded the prestigious ‘Business Initiative of the Year’ award at the recent BSS awards. Presented for a number of initiatives, including being voted best BSS branch-partner, the award also recognises the proactive work undertaken within the commercial team to supply high-quality and innovative heating products. The awards, which look to acknowledge suppliers that go above and beyond, was presented by James Cornish, commercial director at BSS to Ideal Heating chief commercial offi cer - commercial products, Darren Finley. Darren Finley commented on the recent win: “BSS is a key partner for us and we work closely together, so to receive this award and to see the partnership between Ideal and BSS branch staff being recognised is fantastic. A huge congratulations to everyone involved. The award also acknowledges the additional work being undertaken in introducing commercial heat pumps to the market-place.”
