TITON
Titon’s new HRV3 PH ECOaura MVHR unit has successfully achieved Passivhaus accreditation. The unit, when used with Titon’s new aura-t touchscreen or aurastat VT controller, provides exceptional indoor air quality and energy effi cient performance within a building. The HRV3 PH ECOaura is a modifi ed design of Titon’s existing HRV3 Q Plus Eco unit, with the main addition being a new duct heater as featured during testing. This ensures that cold air does not return into the system, allowing balanced ventilation at low temperatures; otherwise, the cold supply must be reduced to prevent any moisture in the stale extracted air from freezing. In turn, this eliminates any risk of the heat cell freezing and stopping the unit from working. As a result, the ventilation system can run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even if the temperature drops down to -15ºC.

UPONOR
Dating back to 1898, the former Hotel Russell in Bloomsbury has undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment and re- brand by Principal Hotel Company, including plumbing installation supplied by Uponor. The old copper piping has been replaced using polyethylene (PE) and multi-layer composite pipe (MLC) from Uponor. Fewer joints and press, push or modular fi ttings have enabled faster, safer installation while reducing the potential for leaks and extending the anticipated service life of the installation. The fl exible system will also help to maintain water pressure and enable easier future modifi cations. Installed for the hot, cold and heating water risers and main distribution, Uponor’s WRAS-approved fi ve-layer composite MLC pipe system has an aluminium core with adhesive either side and a PE inner core and outer layer.

VIEGA
Viega has introduced its Smartpress press connections to the UK. The redesigned system provides a quicker and more reliable method for connecting multi-layer composite (MLC) pipe. The Smartpress connectors are suitable for a range of domestic and commercial applications including drinking water and heating installations. The corrosion resistant Smartpress fi ttings are available in dimensions of 16-63mm and the range includes manifold and radiator connection blocks. One of the most common causes of
failure in traditional press connections for MLC pipe is damage to the O-ring in the fi tting. The Smartpress system replaces the traditional O-ring construction with a robust and durable polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) support structure that simplifi es the installation process.

ACTUATED SOLUTIONS
Actuated Solutions, is launching a highly advanced general-purpose actuator to the building services sector. Available in Europe exclusively via Actuated Solutions, the HQ-005 electric quarter turn actuator packs a serious
punch, making it an ideal solution for larger sized valves within heating and cooling systems, operating at high pressures. Key innovations of the HQ-005 include a high visibility beacon, LED status indicators and a manual override hand wheel for ease of use. It will also automatically detect 110v or 240v and whether AC or DC is present on the 24v option. Precision engineering, including a brushless motor for increased reliability, means the HQ-005 delivers an impressive 70% duty rating, and its hard-anodised fi nish is certifi ed to IP67.

GILBERTS
There is a patented solution to delivering the fi ne detail in exposed ceilings in commercial environments – Gilberts swirl diff users. The company’s range of GSF fi xed and GSJ adjustable diff users have been purpose designed to bring a modern yet discreet element to exposed ceiling building systems. The diff users feature a copyrighted circular pattern of radial vanes to optimise omni- directional discharge airfl ow. The design also compliments the ductwork aesthetics, further enhanced when the round housing frame is chosen. The vane confi guration in Gilberts diff users enables delivery of high air change rates compared to conventional diff users, with rapid entrainment and intermixing. The GSF distributes air horizontally across the ceiling, while the GSJ features interlinked blades that can be altered for horizontal or vertical projection.

RIELLO
Riello has extended its RX range of premix packaged burners. Building on the range with outputs up to 1500kW, Riello has expanded its off ering with numerous variants up to a 3 MW model, whilst still achieving NOx levels of less than 30mg/ kWh, combined with very low noise output. Riello RX premix burners feature a unique design that includes a patented woven wire
gauze ‘sock’ covering the combustion head cylinder. Unlike traditional pressure jet burners, in RX premix burners the gas and combustion air are mixed upstream of the combustion head. The mixture then passes through precision-located ports and the patented gauze ‘sock’ to ignite on the external surface of the combustion head. The result is a very compact fl ame with a diameter directly related to the burner fi ring rate, ensuring precise heat control and optimum effi ciency at all loads.
