ALPHA

On Barden Drive in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Sites for Investment has developed 23 houses aimed at providing cost-eff ective housing. Each home includes an Alpha Evoke boiler for the greatest level of comfort while providing optimum effi ciency. The Evoke is the newest and smallest addition to Alpha’s range of combi boilers, which features a brand new stainless-steel heat exchanger and two separate outputs. It is compact and fi ts neatly in small spaces, but it still has the ability to deliver 14.1 litres of water per minute. Lee Williams from Love Your Boiler, the installer for this project, said: “The inside of the Evoke is easy to maintain and service. It’s also handy for the installer that the pressure relief and condensate are linked internally. The Evoke is a great choice for the development on Barden Drive, thanks to its compact nature making best use of space.”

HYGROMATIK

HygroMatik has launched FlexLine, its new generation of steam humidifi ers. FlexLine functions as a construction system. Starting from a basic model, only the add-ons needed to meet the specifi c humidifi cation requirements of an environment are selected. You do not pay for unnecessary features. commercial, cultural, domestic and leisure facilities. It can also control and stabilise air humidity. A touch screen control system makes it easy to set up and monitor the exact humidity levels required for any environment. FlexLine’s steam humidifi ers have 16 performance modes and off er steam output ranging from 3kg/h up to 130kg/h. FlexLine replaces the existing HyLine and CompactLine electrode steam humidifi ers and the HeaterCompact element humidifi er.

SANHA

In May 1940, over 338,000 allied troops found themselves trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk. As the British Government orchestrated their rescue, they appealed to civilian boat owners to help. One of the boats involved, Dorian, was a 41-foot harbour launch built in 1915 by the Royal Navy, and sold in 1937 to a Mr Findlay who converted her into a cruising yacht for charter. The

Dunkirk Little Ships Restoration Trust approached SANHA to ask for a donation of its stainless 316L tubing towards its latest project, the restoration of Dorian. SANHA was keen to help and has donated the stainless steel tubing needed to complete the project. Barny Parks, UK managing director said: “We’re delighted to assist the Trust with this project, and are proud to say that 24 metres of our 28mm NiroSan pipe is now helping Dorian to return to her former glory.”

MIKROFILL

With the backing of Warwickshire County Council, a decision was taken to replace the existing LPHW heating plant at Goodyers End Primary School. The existing boilers and associated ancillaries were removed and replaced with new Mikrofi ll equipment by established Warwickshire term contractor Dodd Group. These included three Ethos 90kW stainless steel condensing boilers

each with an integral shunt pump providing a total modulation of 30 > 1 (270 > 9kW). Supplied with free standing support frames, a Mikrovent 750 low loss header and air/dirt separator and a cascade header sensor, the new boilers supply VT circuits around the lower school area. The new LPHW installation was complimented with a Mikrofi ll 400 pre-commissioned pressurisation package. The Upper School’s HWS supply was enhanced with an Extreme 500 litre loading cylinder.
