Beijer Ref UK has launched a new Refrigerant Support Hub to help customers navigate changing refrigerant legislation, market pressure and the transition towards natural and low-GWP alternatives. The move comes as

the refrigerant quota system continues to aff ect availability and pricing across the HVACR sector. With higher-GWP refrigerants under increasing pressure, contractors, consultants and end users are having to plan more carefully for both existing systems and future equipment choices. A key part of the new hub is a free Expert Clinic service, giving customers the opportunity to book 30-minute telephone consultations through the Beijer Ref Academy website from next month. The one-to-one sessions will provide direct support on

refrigerant legislation, application advice, product selection and wider planning around the transition to lower-GWP alternatives. Clinics are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The service is supported by a programme of practical resources designed to help customers understand the changes taking place across the refrigerant market. This includes short guidance documents explaining how refrigerant quotas work, why they are aff ecting supply, and which application-specifi c restrictions customers need to be aware of. A series of fi ve-minute videos will cover key topics including quotas, pricing and strategic refrigerant planning, while additional customer resources will include end-user guides, a technical white paper and guidance on the use of drop-in refrigerants. Refrigerant recovery and reclamation will be a central part of the hub, recognising the important role reclaimed refrigerant has to play in keeping existing systems operational. As the market moves away from higher-GWP refrigerants,

reclaimed product will help support service and maintenance needs while reducing reliance on virgin refrigerant supply. Through the hub, Beijer Ref UK will provide practical guidance on recovery, responsible refrigerant management and the role of its specialist Refrec Reclaim recovery team in helping customers return, process and reuse refrigerant safely and eff ectively.  https://beijerref.co.uk/

Star Refrigeration 1/9/25 13:58

Star Refrigeration has unveiled Azanechiller 3.0, the latest evolution of its low-charge ammonia chiller, setting a new standard for industrial cooling effi ciency and sustainability.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, Azanechiller 3.0 exceeds EcoDesign energy effi ciency targets by up to 110%, using up to 52% less electricity than standard models. It outperforms UK competitors by as much as 20% in Seasonal Energy Performance Ratio (SEPR), making it the most effi cient low-charge, air-cooled ammonia chiller on the industrial market. Capable of operating across a temperature range of -20°C to +25°C and cooling capacities up to 1,600kW, the plug-and- play chiller is suitable for food processing, pharmaceuticals, data centres, ice rinks and temperature-controlled storage. Engineered for resilience, it off ers a 25+ year lifespan and robust safety features, including portable safety showers, enclosed electrics, and optional access ladders. Environmentally, the Azanechiller 3.0 is future-proof in that it is F-gas and PFAS regulation-exempt with a low ammonia charge (0.18kg/kW), and optimised for ambient temperatures up to 40°C. The system is also Ethos-ready, allowing real-time AI-based data analysis and energy optimisation. Azanechiller 3.0 aims to deliver a reliable, energy-effi cient, and sustainable cooling solution that supports businesses on their journey to Net Zero.  www.star-ref.co.uk
