Slitting & Rewinding Bimec integrate slitter rewinders into whole system
Bimec srl, an Italian designer and manufacturer of slitter rewinders since 1976, is ready to step forward and lead the converting industry forward
a TCA series. The single face model TF offers a new way to conceive a slitter rewinder, unique in the converting market: the comfort of unwind and rewind on one side even with bigger rolls. Innovative engineering and design allow to contain spaces and heights and obtain results that you usually have when using bigger slitters and with unwind carriage on the rear. The TF also has a very versatile slitting unit: it features flexibility in the configuration of slitting types in conformity with the kind of materials to slit and using the max machine performance. It is possible to equip the machine with razor blades, mechanical shear knives, independent mechanical knives but also pneumatic knives. The positioning systems can be manual – through a laser pointer – semiautomatic and automatic too.

integration between a slitter rewinder and a laser perforation system made possible by the single-face structure of a Bimec’s STM50, one of the most popular models. Thanks to its contained spaces and ease of use, the STM50 is particularly suitable to be combined with other technologies and thanks to the high flexibility of its equipment, this machine gives the possibility to create many slitting and rewinding solutions Bimec has a large range of slitter
rewinders. As a matter of fact, it manufactures both compact machines and bigger duplex turret slitter rewinders, highly automated to increase productivity and available in several configurations.
CUSTOMISATION FOR THE CUSTOMER Bimec produces slitter rewinders that are tailored on it’s customers’ needs: it makes them suitable to be integrated with other

systems such as rolls handling, perforating, embossing, print visioning and more. “A greater versatility of our machines and their integration in larger systems are something we are working toward. We work considering the functionality of our solutions, avoiding to make our customers’ investment too expensive”, says co-owner Davide Bottoli. Bimec’s slitter rewinders strength is since
ever the ease of use: they’re designed to make operator’s work easier, to eliminate downtime during working cycles but still reaching high quality results.
DUPLEX TURRET SLITTER REWINDER At K 2019, Bimec will show a duplex turret slitter rewinder, a TCA64C+, equipped with a short web-path under running board and well isolated from the floor to guarantee the hygiene standards and prevent any contamination of the material with dust. The TCA64C+ is one of the most sold model of the TCA series, that is addressed to converters who need high machine performance and high speed. A TF will be exhibited too. Its design melds the best of two series: compactness, easy of use and ergonomics of a single-face STM50 model combined to high speed, technical solutions in rewinding and equipment of
CROSS-CUTTING SYSTEM Both machines have a lot of useful features in their equipment: they have batch roll on semi-integrated shaftless unwind stand, placed on rear with lifting from floor level to working position, and they also feature a cross-cutting system at the end of the rewinding cycle. In order to speed up the working cycle, the TCA64C+ and the TF have a quick loading and unloading of the finished rolls: they are equipped with an auto push off and lateral unloading system of finished reels. Furthermore, there’s a control system in rewinding through lay-on rolls with horizontal sliding. Different cutting solutions are made possible by the possibility to program the stops at different diameter sizes in unwinding. Finally, the company has an unwinding web guiding system: batch roll automatic alignment supplied with sensor for the printed line, edge and image reading. The two shown machines are 4.0 ready: they feature a touchscreen operator panel for data setting and visualisation, recipe storage and diagnostic that make the operator’s work easier. Bimec knows the importance of
listening its customers, that’s why it designs and manufactures its slitter rewinders in several versions that can be customised according to the client’s needs. Particularly, the TCA 64-84 series, and the STM 60-80 series are available in four different versions and in the C+ version, and will be displayed at K fair.
