Vetaphone offers new web cleaner V

etaphone has added a unique web cleaner to its portfolio of products to facilitate single-source supply

for all narrow web converters. The new unit, which can be single- or

double-sided, is available in four standard web widths from 350mm to 570mm (13.8 inch to 22.4 inch) and has a maximum web-driven operational speed of 250m/min (820ft/min). The intelligent design and use of high-

quality elastomer cleaner rolls and perforated adhesive rolls ensure that all contamination is removed. The easy side- access to the unit facilitates quick removal of used sections of the roll sheets, while the top opening gives access for web threading and cleaning of the elastomer rolls. Usefully, the adhesive roll has a quick-release device that allows a tool-free change, and the cartridges have a self-locking system to prevent any movement during operation. Like all Vetaphone technology, the web cleaner is designed for maximum flexibility, and can be mounted in various locations to

suit any press configuration and web orientation. The active anti-static system prevents any possibility of re-contamination after the cleaning process has finished. Importantly, the web cleaner can be

linked to Vetaphone’s iCorona Generator, which eliminates the need for any additional operating system. This brings added production efficiency and reduces operator stress because the web cleaner control and maintenance is fully integrated with the Vetaphone Corona system via the same module. This means that one screen provides all the information required for both web cleaning and surface treatment Speaking for Vetaphone, VP of sales and marketing Kevin McKell says: “The clever design and control integration of the Web Cleaner makes it a dream to operate. The console advises of maintenance requirements, provides fault diagnosis, and acts as an instructional manual. There are also

prompts built-in for paper changing and roller cleaning, so all the operator needs to do is monitor one control screen.” The new web cleaner can be fully

integrated with Vetaphone’s Corona technology control system.

Fraser launches versatile 47mm static eliminator for confined space installations

launch of the world’s shortest 24V DC anti-static bar with an even smaller close-range ionising tool. At just 47mm in operational length, the 3024 Ultra-Compact 24V DC static eliminator can also be combined with a fixed nozzle for ionised air cleaning, as well as forming an ionised airgun. The 3024 Ultra-Compact can be used in the most confined of spaces. Like its sister product – the 3024 Compact bar launched in June this year – the 3024 Ultra-Compact has built-in high voltage electronics to deliver powerful static elimination at close range to a substrate or other material.

L

eading static control specialist Fraser Anti-Static Techniques has followed the successful

Fraser Anti-Static Techniques CEO, Bruce Clothier, said: “We have developed the 3024 Ultra-Compact in response to customer demand for elimination of static in high-performance machinery where space is at a minimum. We’ve been able to package our advanced technology into a device that can literally fit in the palm of your hand – maintaining the power and performance you would expect from Fraser. “After a soft launch of the product we

have found our customers are using it either as a single ioniser or combined with a nozzle or gun handle to form an ionised air cleaning device. It is clearly a versatile product that is also finding a home across many industries, from

printing and labelling to parts cleaning in medical and other sectors. Ion balance makes it suitable for most industrial applications where static control is essential.” The 3024 Ultra-Compact is simple to

retrofit with integrated mounting holes and standard M8 4-pin connector. At just 80mm x 47mm x 16mm (excluding connector), it has an ideal operating distance of 20mm to 150mm. Each device is capable of delivering

up to 7.5kV from a low voltage 24 V DC input. Pulsed DC high voltage provides excellent charge decay performance even at longer distances. The 3024 Ultra-Compact is highly durable and safe. The resistively coupled tungsten emitters provide unlimited life and reduce the current to a shockless level. It is protected against under-voltage, overload and reverse polarity. You can also remotely monitor operational status using outputs compatible with IEC 61131-2 Type 3 PLC inputs, enabling customers to maximise its performance in any environment. Fraser also offers an external AC-DC PSU where 24 V DC is not available.
