Improve your circularity by relying on DG press’s hybrid web offset printing machines and services
Although DG press only became the entity it is today in 2009, it has a heritage that spans over 30 years.
D
G press emerged from former Drent Goebel company in 2009. Drent’s top executives, service manager Remko Koolbergen, and operations manager Peter Kloppers, launched a new company, DG press.
DG press started with 12 former Drent Goebel employees who worked in service, spare parts, and engineering. Because of this background and heritage, DG press has more than 30 years of experience in developing and building web offset machines. After a successful period of servicing and maintaining the existing installed base of Drent Goebel, DG press opted to restart producing new machines.
Building on its long-lasting experience, DG press was able to develop and release in a short period of time a second-generation and, as of late, a third- generation sleeve offset presses; named DG-AUXO, which is designed to perfectly comply with the requirements of a circular economy. Today, DG press continues to maintain both its own installed base as well the whole installed base of Drent Goebel. DG press serves over 400 satisfied customers worldwide operating in the security printing, label and flexible packaging industries.
TRANSITION TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY Nowadays, the transition to a circular economy is a prominent topic. Waste does not exist in a circular economy because products and raw materials are made to be reused repeatedly. In this process, any waste material should be converted into raw materials for new production. Brand owners, retailers, printers and converters are making huge efforts to design an entirely circular packaging production process, avoiding waste of energy and materials. The DG-AUXO web offset press series offers a perfect potential for energy savings and sustainable print production, as we reported in the June issue of Converter Magazine. This is caused by a number of factors, including the fact that the DG-AUXO uses significantly less energy than gravure and flexo presses because hot air dryers and incinerators are not required.
Additionally, the inks used in DG-AUXO web offset printing are energy curable and therefore completely solvent-free. This means no unnecessary spoilage of solvents from fossil fuels or other resources and also no Green House Gas emissions from RTO’s. In the transition to a circular economy, all of this contributes
to the creation of a sustainable future. However, there’s more.
EXTENSIONS
At DG press, we think further than simply manufacturing and delivering new machines; we also take steps to extend the lifetime of the press as long as possible. In most circumstances, it will be more cost-efficient to renew the press and make it future- proof rather than purchasing a new one. This benefits the environment as well.
DG press has developed a number of retrofit packages for older Drent Goebel/DG press obsolete components. These packages will keep the press up to date and running and provide spare components for years to come.
Thanks to these improvements, combined with good maintenance the economic productive life of our web offset presses can be used for more than 30 years.
USED PRESSES
By refurbishing presses and machine modules, DG press further supports and encourages the transition to a circular economy. We provide the option to refurbish and overhaul used machines to prepare them for a new and productive life.
For many customers this eliminates the need to invest in a new machine in a completely different configuration for a different market. Once more, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
SERVICE
DG press offers service contracts in its service portfolio to keep the equipment in good condition, improve uptime, and reduce waste. Also production support
REBRANDING
In pace with this evolution, DG press has updated its corporate identity with a fresh new look to reflect our modern offer (or standards) of services, equipment and operations and meet current market expectations. The organisation’s evolution and continuous dedication to delivering highquality and innovative printing machines are both reflected in the new corporate identity. DG press’s hybrid web offset printing presses are among the most environmentally friendly solutions in the printing industry. The new DG press logo incorporates and expresses sustainable and environmentally friendly production practices, aligning the company’s image with its products’ distinctive selling qualities. The official launch of DG press’ rebranding campaign will take place in the month of October 2022, along with the unveiling of a new logo and website. The new logo and the use of the new colours represent sustainability and green printing. Visitors will find it simpler to locate the type of machines or configuration they need for a particular product or market on the new website, which will provide an entirely different customer experience. As Remko Koolbergen, director of DG press says: “With this rebranding, we’re adapting our identity to the future requirements and market demands where DG press will continue to provide the same high- quality service and equipment that our customers have come to expect.”
