Resino develops alkali-resistant ink

ustomers often find it challenging to meet the consumers’ demands regarding chemical resistance. This can be for plastic packaging, labels for chemical products and more.
Chemical resistance is mostly achieved by using solvent based inks, and we have earlier developed solvent-based, alkali- resistant ink for labels.
However, it is a possible scenario that the customer is not allowed to use flammable inks in the print shop. UV curing inks can be a solution, but this requires a
UV printing press. The alternative to the would be a 2K water-based ink resistant to alkali and various chemicals. To find a solution to this challenge, Resino investigated several possibilities in close cooperation with a specific customer, aiming to develop a high- quality, water-based ink that can resist alkaline detergents, hot water, and a multitude of chemicals, while the print retains its colors.
Resino used its technology toolbox and further developed some existing
technologies which resulted in a two- component water-based ink tailored to these specific needs.
This situation is typical of Resino’s approach to the challenges its customers meet, searching and researching into its technology toolbox for previous solutions and then further developing a new, tailored solution solving the current challenge.
