New 3D configurator for tissue products E

ngraving Solutions, a company in the

Tissue Business Area of the Körber AG Group, presents the new 3D product configurator exclusively to MIAC. Thanks to its know-

how and technological excellence, the company has always distinguished itself for its ability to develop new embossing designs and to support the customer in the study of roller engravings for the optimisation of production performance. Now, thanks to the new digital configurator, it can offer the customer a product preview service that can be obtained even before a ‘pilot test.’ This is a real ‘experience’ that allows the customer to speed up the decision making cycle and reduce its time to market. Thanks to the new configurator it is possible to create your own ‘tailor-made’ product: choosing between two predefined types of rolls: toilet paper or kitchen paper, four types of paper each with a defined surface and colour, 30 embossing designs, eight colours. A total of 1,920 configurations are possible. To date, Engraving Solutions has produced more than 4,000 rollers, created more than 12,000 embossing graphics solutions and has 15 active patents worldwide. ukoerber.de

M

TC, the technological solutions company for folded tissue products, presented at MIAC a

complete range of folders for napkins equipped with innovative technologies, with particular attention to ergonomics and operator safety. The distinctive feature of the STAR project

was to combine the recognised high quality of MTC machinery with the use of new solutions to achieve greater process efficiency and a finished product of excellent quality. During the design phase, a particular focus was on simplifying the operation of the machine, which is more automated and less dependent on the operator. Besides, both the frequency and the associated maintenance costs have been substantially reduced. All this translates into a much more stable production process, with a consequent improvement in efficiency. Thanks to synergies with other companies in the business area to which MTC belongs, in addition to conventional folding, embossing and printing modules, it is possible to create customer specific solutions for new products. The STAR lines are available in three

different configurations: M1, M2, and V4-16. The M1 version has a production speed of

up to 2,500 napkins/min, while its big sister M2 can reach 5,000 napkins/min. The automatic reel change and the patented folding system make these machines unique in their kind.

nspired by Kansas City and its proud BBQ traditions, Prairie Fire BBQ offer sauces, signature rubs and prepared meat from its HQ in London’s Mercato Metropolitano. When it came to establishing the Prairie Fire brand back in 2013, founder Michael Gratz applied his quality mantra not only to the taste, but to the design and image of his product packaging as well. “We set out to create a rustic but contemporary look that captured interest at first sight,” explains Gratz. “The design includes all the elements that make you think authentic barbecue from the off.” “When it came to printing the labels we

didn’t have lots of space to house label inventory and our production level meant we needed a flexible solution. I also wanted the labels to have some texture, with a good stick and for the sauce label, the ability to handle condensation from refrigerator storage,” he continues. “As novices in the packaging world, it was

really helpful to have someone there to help whenever we had a query,” Gratz continues. “label.co.uk provided great customer service and everything we needed along our initial print journey.” When not cooking up a storm, Prairie Fire

are looking at developing their product range and a yet to be released Caribbean Style Hot Sauce just won a Great Taste 2018 award. The team is also looking into vegetarian items to add to the menu. uprairefirebbq.com

Returning to the napkin fold

For dispenser products, Star V4-16 Line

completes the range, the ideal solution for high production. The STAR V series allows the user to process reels coming directly from the paper mills, eliminating the process of cutting the reels to the size of the finished napkin. The V Star series uses vacuum folding technology, which can reach production rates of up to 16,000 napkins/min. Always intending to improve production

efficiency, the Customer Service Portal, dedicated to customers, is enhanced thanks to the introduction of the first Digital Tissue services developed in collaboration with Fabio Perini. In this way, the customer will be able to monitor in real time the performance of all the lines, thus improving the efficiency of the entire production thanks to the support and technical expertise of the MTC experts. umtcitalia.com
