Sidel appoints new global vice president
Sidel has reaffirmed its ambition to help Food, Home and Personal care brands meet sustainability goals and stay competitive as it announced the appointment of a new global vice president. Pascal Lefèvre will develop and drive Sidel’s Food, Home and Personal Care strategy, meeting the unique needs of Food, Home and Personal Care markets and delivering flexible, eco-friendly, and tailored-made solutions that will address the new and complex retailing and distribution challenges that customers face.
Mr Lefèvre explained that he will ensure Sidel can provide innovative solutions that offer the flexibility, operability and product care demanded by these fast-moving and rapidly evolving market segments, while drawing on existing capability and expertise. He said: “The Food, Home and Personal Care markets remain of critical importance to Sidel and we will continue to enhance the products and services that we offer to our customers as we look to triple this key part of our business by 2030.”
Pascal Lefèvre will lead in the provision of innovative, eco-friendly, and ultra- flexible equipment to Food, Home and Personal Care customers. These feature a comprehensive range of blowers and end of line solutions, including packers and palletisers, for any type of primary and secondary packaging. Sidel also offers complete or partial integrated lines in categories like edible oil, sauces and dressing, coffee and more.
He added that: “We are committed to the Food, Home and Personal Care segment’s transition to sustainable packaging solutions in response to growing consumer demand, ensuring that manufacturers can play their part in the journey to net-zero. Sidel is supporting brand owners through the transition to fully recyclable light-weighted PET or r-PET containers, leveraging our design capability and market-leading blow moulding solutions with its preferential heating technology for shaped containers.”

Nozama’s Plastiks NFT marketplace joins Celo’s Climate Collective
Plastiks will bring a new type of regenerative tokenized asset—Plastic Recycling Guarantees—to Celo, in addition to a vibrant NFT marketplace that supports a broad range of communities and use cases, including sports and entertainment. Notably, bridging to Celo’s carbon-neutral blockchain enhances Plastiks’ environmental benefits by helping to offset the carbon associated with its NFTs. Plastiks will also immediately begin collaborating with other like-minded Climate Collective members. “Partnering with Celo is an important step for Plastiks that can help us reach our goal of enhancing the commercial value of recycled plastic and, ultimately, reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in the environment,” said Andre Vanyi Robin, founder and chief executive, Nozama. “Access to Celo’s carbon-neutral blockchain and knowledge sharing with the Climate Collective’s broad range of environmentally focused collaborators will help us reach more companies and develop new ways to use NFTs in pursuit of a sustainable future.” Mr Robin will participate in the NFT Creators panel at Celo Connect, Celo’s first global conference, on Plastiks launched in early 2022 as the world’s first utility NFT by Nozama, the London-based global sustainability technology company. Plastiks is a pioneer in the fight against global plastic contamination, incentivizing a much-needed increase in the amount of plastic recovered for recycling. The Plastiks marketplace enables global recyclers to turn invoice data into NFTs. Each NFT created uses data recorded on the blockchain to certify that a corresponding amount of plastic has been recovered, thus ensuring it doesn’t end up in the environment. Plastic producers, users, and recyclers, as well as NFT collectors, can then buy and sell these NFTs.
