onverting systems are a cost-effective solution to provide businesses with the power to laminate, cut and finish high quality labels, in-house. Converting systems can also save time, effort and money, as well as reducing errors and increasing efficiency. In addition, businesses can further save on materials, as well as substantially reducing the amount of label stock required.
Leading printer manufacturer, Afinia, offers a range of models, including the DLF-140S and the DLF-220S digital label finishers, designed for tabletop use, as well as the DLP-2100 digital label press. These models offer businesses operating in a variety of industries a highly advanced, low- cost solution to laminating, cutting and finishing, without having to outsource their labelling requirements.
The DLF-140S/DLF-220S digital label finishers are Afinia’s compact offering, allowing companies with limited space to also benefit from an efficient converting system. These digital, knife-based models enable users to cut any shape, without the use of costly dies, and can effortlessly finish labels to a professional quality. The label finishers can unwind, laminate, contour cut, remove waste, slit and rewind, and thanks to the digital cut file
on the DLF-140S/DLF220S, the plotter is expertly guided as it precisely converts uncut, continuous- printed media into fully-finished labels. With a maximum width of either 140 mm (DLF-140S) or 220 mm (DLF-220S), the compact, plotter-style finishing system can convert labels into finished rolls, so they are ready for application. Additionally, for increased flexibility, cut files can be altered to create a range of label shapes.
The DLF-140S/DLF-220S are ideal for businesses with short-run, low-volume labelling requirements. For example, they can be used in a variety of industries and applications including retail, print shops, health and beauty and seasonal promotions. In addition, with the ability to laminate, the compact label finishers provide high levels of UV, moisture and chemical resistance, as well as offering increased.
The Afinia DLP-2100 is a fast, cost-effective solution for companies with medium-volume label printing requirements, offering the capacity to print in full-colour, laminate, die cut and finish labels at a speed of up to 60 feet per minute. It benefits from a waste matrix removal system and two rewind mandrels, which are beneficial for printing multiple labels across the web. It features
semi-rotary technology, with a fixed magnetic cylinder, accommodating label sizes of up to 300 mm in length. Each label size has a low-cost, flexible steel die, which can be applied to the magnetic cylinder and easily replaced, improving ease of use, reducing costs and saving time. The DLP-2100 can also hold a master roll of up to 1,000 meters in length of plain, unprocessed material. With the ability to laminate, the DLP-2100 offers protection against chemicals, and the laminate can either be supported (with backing paper), or unsupported (without backing paper). The laminate provides improved UV resistance and can shield printed inks from harmful chemicals, offering protection and durability, as well as scratch and scuff resistance. The lamination process will also help to extend the life of the labels.
A key component of the DLP-2100 is the inline integration of the Afinia L901 digital label printer, an industrial printer that creates professional results and with a 1600 dpi print resolution. The L901 enables the DLP-2100 digital label press to produce over 25,000 full-colour, 3x4 inch labels per hour, while offering fast print speeds, outstanding print quality and the latest Memjet printhead technology.
The DLP-2100 is ideal for businesses operating in chemical and food labelling industries. Furthermore, it can save companies from having to outsource their labelling requirements, increasing speed, flexibility and quality, and enabling orders to be fulfilled quickly and accurately. This model also benefits from an upgraded chain drive, offering an improved performance.
AM Labels has the only DLP-2100 unit in the UK and can offer on-site demonstrations to prospective customers.
