Industry News Editor’s Note Happy New Year! Hello wonderful readers and
welcome to the first issue of 2019, which is, of course, fit to bursting with packaging trends, innovative ideas and terrific technology, as well as all the news and know-how you need to get you going.
We’ve got in-depth features on all things converting including the latest in labelling solutions and a bumper sized collection of articles on sustainable converting. It’s good to see the industry leaders taking charge when it comes to
climate change and environmental concerns, and trying new ways of working. This industry can be a positive force for renewable improvements and really influence others but we have to be willing to commit. Sustainability may not always be the cheapest option, but should that really be our only consideration, espeically when the UN has given us a 12 year timeframe to radically switch up systems for any actual improvements to the state of our planet. As ever, I believe new technology will lead us to solutions yet unheard of, and I champion the smart minds working towards that goal. For now, I hope your year starts splendidly, and that you are successful in all your endeavours.
