Foodies Grab-and-Go concept takes flight at Stansted Airport

Selecta, a global leader in food tech solutions, has unveiled its latest 24/7 Grab- and-Go food and drink concept at Stansted Airport, setting a new benchmark for travellers’ snacking experiences. This innovative initiative is the second

installation at a UK airport and marks the debut use of Kepak’s hot food vending machine in a Selecta installation, ensuring passengers can enjoy a hot snack swiftly before boarding their flight.

Crafted to cater to the fast-paced

nature of airport travel, Selecta’s flagship concept at Stansted Airport offers a fresh perspective on on-the-go dining. Whether you’re an early bird catching the first flight or a night owl boarding a red-eye, Selecta ensures travellers have access to a range of high-quality fresh food, snacks, and beverages whenever they need them.

Key features of Selecta’s Grab-and-Go 24/7 food and drink concept at Stansted Airport include: 1. Unparalleled Convenience: Open 24/7, Selecta’s concept is tailored to the needs of modern travellers, ensuring access to nourishing and delicious options round the clock.

2. Safe & Secure: The Grab & Go solution utilises smart technology and intelligent vending. Smart fridges allow browsing, ingredient checks, and product selection, with charges applied only for items taken, ensuring a seamless consumer experience.

3. Cutting-Edge Hot Food Vending Machine: One highlight is the first introduction of the Kepak Rustlers hot food vending machine into the Foodies

family. This state-of-the-art machine enables passengers to indulge in quick, hot snacks on the go.

4. Range of Hot Beverages and Filtered Water: Passengers can choose their favourite fresh-bean coffee or hot drink and refill their water bottles with chilled filtered water using the state-of-the-art Neo Q beverage machine.

This opening follows the successful launch

of Foodies-on-the-go at East Midlands Airport, another Manchester Airport Group operation, and was designed and built by Nebrak. London Stansted’s retail director, Stephen

Martin, said: “We’re very pleased to team up with Selecta to offer our passengers this convenient and innovative grab-and-go concept offering a broad range of products that can be adapted as we learn from our customer’s tastes. “The airside location and enhanced

environment Selecta has created within satellite two gate area makes it a convenient stop for those looking to pick up any last-minute needs before their flight from London Stansted. I’d like to thank the whole Selecta team for working with us to deliver this great initiative.”

Hot drinks machine offers fast delivery of wide variety of beverages

Necta, a brand of the Evoca Group, has announced the arrival of Opera Touch; a new, hot drinks vending machine that combines the best in electronic technology with an optimised mechanical layout, with the effect of simplifying both maintenance and usage. Every facet of Opera Touch revolves around its 13.3” screen that allows the drinks menu to be dramatically expanded, and also enables the consumer to access, for example, nutrition and allergen information. With enhanced search options and a high degree of drink customisation, Opera Touch offers consumers an improved purchase experience. Opera Touch is designed to be easily managed by operators.

Thanks to its proven electronics, it’s quick and easy to programme operations and personalise the functions of the machine. Evoca’s

standardised programming software results in familiarity across the entire range, as well as a reduction in operating costs thanks to speedy machine set up, easy fault diagnosis and simple maintenance. It’s equally straightforward to customise the

user interface. For instance, video content can be added to accompany the progress of the process, from stand-by to dispensing. The screen’s ability to host multimedia content also gives operators the possibility to communicate an extensive commercial offer and customise the selections with brands and logos.
