THE VENDIES 2024: MEET THE WINNERS
T
he Vendies 2024 was held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Wednesday June 5 in front of an audience of over 200 vending professionals. A total of 28
trophies were presented for the most innovative products and best services across the industry this year. The event was hosted by acclaimed English actor Shaun Williamson, best known for his EasterEnders character Barry Evans, ably assisted by the National Lottery’s ‘voice of the balls’ Alan Dedicoat. The Vendies is held annually to celebrate the hard work and
innovation taking place across the vending and automated retail sectors and as usual rewarded the best products, projects, collaborations and individual achievements, selected as winners by an expert panel of judges. After a drinks reception and a three-course meal, Shaun wowed the audience with a comedy routine and a few toe-tapping, catchy tunes which saw guests singing along and clapping before it was time for the awards presentation began. This year we introduced a number of new categories in line with the industry’s evolution as well as several new team and individual performance awards to compliment the two red-hot, returning categories from last year, The Woman of the Year and the Rising Star. The day’s events were concluded with the presentation of
the prestigious Lifetime Achievement which went to Automatic Retailing’s John Crichton. (See pg 31)
Vending International editor, Heather Ramsden said it was clear to see the Vendies event was growing and this was in large part down to the enthusiasm shown by the industry to take part. She said: “Entries to the Vendies are at record levels and this
corresponds to the rate of innovation and the outstanding team and individual performances the industry enjoys.”
