New ranges, ideas and inspiration

It’s that time of year again. While the season has calmed down in a selling out sense, it is about to crank back into gear with regard to new product sourcing, buying and planning for the festive period and far beyond.

With Glee 2018 on the immediate horizon, opportunities to

energise garden centres are plentiful. That means not only new products and ranges to appeal to customers, but ideas about merchandising, events and other ways to increase footfall and customer spend.

Introduced last year, the Retail Lab @ Glee returns for 2018, themed around Happy Gardening. With immediate take home concepts, as well as ideas to get the mental cogs whirring, the area should prove a worthwhile visit for garden centres looking to take advantage of trends including grow your own, easy gardening and pets.

It is also worth planning your visit to take in some of the seminars on show. With guest speakers discussing a broad range of topics, there will be plenty of areas where you can find advantages for your business and an understanding of key trends into 2019. Attending industry events can help your business stand out, by giving you access to innovative

products, new ideas and contacts that can help drive you forward. Plan ahead and take the opportunity to make the most of your attendance, for the future success of your business. Gregor Muir, Editor gmuir@datateam.co.uk
