Luceco shines at new photovoltaic powered hospital in Jordan
Al Abdali Medical Centre is a multi-specialty hospital in Amman, Jordan. The building is powered by an 8.2 MW photovoltaic power plant, the largest solar plant in the world powering a single healthcare facility according to its developer at the time of writing. Luceco with partners MEMCO supplied a cost-effective energy efficient LED lighting solution for this state-of-the-art hospital.

he medical centre has a 200-bed facility and provides best practice patient-centred care as well as
promoting research and education. It was considered that the and that as costs play a key role in the healthcare environment, estate maintenance and operating expenditure could be substantially reduced by introducing a highly efficient LED lighting design. Offering an efficacy up to 129 Llm/cW,
Platinum LED Downlights were installed in communal areas, circulation spaces and corridors, offer running cost savings of up to 80% when compared with traditionally lamped fittings. Other luminaires in this downlighter family include the Platinum Surface Mount providing opportunity for creative lighting design where a recessed ceiling void is not available and the popular Platinum Mini. the medical procedure rooms. The 600x600 Edgelit panel features a TpB polycarbonate diffuser and is suitable for use in 15 or 24mm standard exposed grid ceilings delivering up to 115Llm/cW.
