Boost for North East charities thanks to Seaward E
lectrical test and measurement equipment specialist Seaward
Electronic has donated £3,000 to three local charities to help support a number of important community activities. Working to create social equality and prosperity within the former pit village, The Little House of Hope in Thornley has received £1,000 towards transport costs for its ‘Hope Sings’ choir. Choirmaster Sue Furness, said: “Donations like this make a big diff erence. We have three events arranged for the rest of the year - performing at an old people’s home, a young mother’s club and fi nally a Christmas carol service.”
The Alice Hospice in Hartlepool, which cares
for and comforts people aff ected by life-limiting illness or the death of a loved one, has also received £1,000 after it was nominated by one of Seaward’s employees. Greg Hildreth, business and communications senior manager, said: “It was great to have the opportunity to show Alison and Chris from Seaward around the hospice. They also met with Sue Whalley, our lovely nurse practitioner, and we would like to thank them for their generosity.”
A third donation has gone to Ferryhill’s Little Treasures autism charity, which works from eight locations across the North East to support autistic adults and children - Seaward visited the Peterlee group.

SP has welcomed two new members to the sales team. Liam Wiltshire takes on the role of area sales manager for the South East and Ashley Bown joins the company as the area sales manager for the East Midlands region.
Liam comes to his new role at ESP with a wealth of experience in the electrical industry. He started his electrical journey within the wholesaler environment where he worked for seven years before moving over to the manufacturing side. Ashley joins the ESP team with 12 years’ experience working with a number of leading wholesaler and distributer organisations.

Ovia, meanwhile, has announced two new appointments to the sales team. Peter Stubbs joins the team as area sales manager for Yorkshire and the North East and Gary Middleton has taken up the position of area sales manager for South Wales and the Lower West Midlands regions.

Peter brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in the electrical industry for over 15 years in roles including sales and business development manager. Gary comes to Ovia having been in the industry since 2005. The majority of that time was spent at a leading wholesaler, and most recently he enjoyed a six year spell working on a commercial projects team.

embre has become the latest manufacturer to make a formal commitment to sponsor EDATA, the electrotechnical sector’s data pool, for the next three years. Their commitment brings the total number of sponsors to 24, comprising a mix of manufacturers and wholesalers of various sizes.
The sponsors’ pledges means that the EDATA Data Pool can enter the next phase of its development: making high quality product data available at no cost to EDA wholesalers and their branches, and continuing to develop the platform based on the input of the members.

chneider Electric has appointed Gwenaelle Avice-Huet as its new executive vice president of Europe Operations, starting from 4 September 2023.

be responsible for Schneider Electric’s full business portfolio across Europe Operations, representing the company’s contribution to the development of the EU’s agenda to accelerate Europe’s green and digital transformation.
Gwenaelle joined Schneider Electric in 2021 as senior-vice president of corporate strategy,
before entering the executive committee as chief strategy and sustainability offi cer. Before joining Schneider, Gwenaelle worked at ENGIE and has also served on the executive committee of ENGIE, serving as the chief executive offi cer of ENGIE North America and in charge of the Global Business Line on Renewable Energies.
