Mental Health Hub for tradespeople launched at Elex Exeter

hining the spotlight on supporting the mental health of tradespeople, Elex launched a dedicated Mental Health Hub at its Exeter show, with the aim of fostering conversation, off ering support and potentially saving lives.
In the UK, men are three times more likely to die by suicide than womenand in construction – a male dominated industry – men are three times more likely to take their own lives. Two people working in the UK construction industry die by suicide every day, which equates to more than 700 people a year. A recent report shows that four in fi ve tradespeople (84%) experience mental health issues due to their job, with nine in ten (89%) aged between 18 and 24 reporting mental health issues each year. Those aged 35 to 44 face problems most often with 1 in 10 admitting daily struggles. Supported by two leading charities, visitors were encouraged to drop into the Mental Health Hub, start talking and begin their path to improving mental well-being for themselves, or someone else in their life who needs help.
ECA launches country- wide #ProjectNetZero Roadshow L
eading electrotechnical and engineering services body ECA launched its #ProjectNetZero series of Roadshow events at the America Square Conference Centre, London, on 11 September.
ECA is hosting the #ProjectNetZero Roadshow to give ECA Members an advantage in a growing market. As the demand for low-carbon and net zero work increases, electrical and engineering services contractors play a more important role than ever in delivering the installations that will make Net Zero possible.
Leading industry experts from ECA, which represents nearly 3,000 member businesses across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, will be visiting towns and cities across the UK to deliver full-day events packed with presentations, demonstrations and panel discussions for ECA Members. These sessions are aimed at enhancing and supporting electrotechnical businesses to prosper in the fast-moving low-carbon market. The Project Net Zero Roadshow is free to attend for ECA Members.
