Interview
are manufactured using recycled material by 2028. Another initiative that we have worked hard to develop this year is our work experience programme, which is designed to help local students learn more about the manufacturing industry. Our programme is the perfect opportunity for students to gain professional work experience, get an insight into our diverse teams and explore the variety of career opportunities within the manufacturing industry. We want to inspire them to grow through the experience with us, helping them to develop new skills and build their confidence. Charitable giving is part of our culture, and we are very proud to support local and national charities through regular staff fundraising efforts and company donations. For example, this year, we have partnered with Little Gate, a charity that helps people with learning difficulties and autism into paid work.
What does this mean for wholesalers and distributors?
Sustainability is a key consideration in all areas of a building’s design. With the construction industry generating huge quantities of waste each year, much of which ends up in landfill, it is clear more needs to be done to reduce the amount of waste produced. We believe that by working together, we can create a more sustainable future for everyone, and wholesalers are a crucial part of this journey. We know that we can’t achieve Net Zero on our own, and that’s why we’re calling on our employees, customers and partners to join us. We all have an impact, no matter how small. By stocking and promoting sustainable products manufactured

from recycled materials, wholesalers can help stimulate a real step change across the industry.
To support our
objectives and provide partners with increased insight into our sustainability performance, we have been assessed by EcoVadis. We are proud to have been awarded the silver rating for our ongoing commitment to sustainability and are now working towards gold.
EcoVadis allows us to get a deeper
understanding of our supply chain and means we can share key sustainability metrics with electrical wholesalers.
Who has influenced you the most professionally?
My husband – my partner in life.
How will Marshall-Tufflex continue to support wholesalers moving forward? Our mission is to manufacture and supply the highest quality cable management products for the electrical industry whilst minimising our impact on the environment. Specifiers are increasingly choosing products that are manufactured from recycled materials and require documentation such as Embodied Carbon Reports. Through our work in this area and commitment to continued development, we are perfectly placed to provide this support.
What do you consider
your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement is a personal one which relates to the work I’ve done to support people with mental health issues. I have experienced depression in the past, and during the COVID-19 lockdown, I developed a therapy app because I wanted to help people who were struggling due to isolation. I found this very rewarding. Wellbeing is also a key focus for Marshall-Tufflex, and I have been heavily involved in a number of mental health training courses to learn more about how to support our colleagues with both mental and physical health issues.
What’s your favourite film and/or book? I couldn’t choose just one! I’m not the kind of person who likes watching the same thing all the time. Generally, I prefer romance and comedy films, though. The best two books I have read are definitely Think and Grow Rich and Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude.
Football, golf, gardening, pets, children… What keeps you busy at the weekend? I have two children, so I am always busy! As a family, we’re very into sports, so climbing, kickboxing, running…there is always an energetic activity in our plans!
