Congratulations are in order! I

t’s been a busy month at the Electrical Wholesaler office as we prepare for our bumper winter issues! There are some timely features in

this month’s edition, including an explanation of the five key factors involved with arc flash protection. Important reading for this time in the season. It’s also the point in the year where we start

looking ahead to the next iteration of the Electrical Wholesaler Awards. Entries will open on Monday 28th October – so get those nominations in early, and be sure to check out the new categories that have been added to the 2020 ceremony. There’s never been a wider scope of recognition across the industry, and, of course, it means there’s never been a better chance to scoop a trophy or two. For all the info, turn to page 32, and watch this space in future issues for more updates! There’s plenty going on in the here and now that deserves wholehearted congratulations, however. young people as well as anyone looking for a career change. Additionally, Schneider Electric announced

that Adrienne Roser and Rachel Ramage, MSc Sustainable Cities students from the University of Leeds, are UK finalists for Go Green in the City 2019 – the annual global student contest to find fresh ideas and solutions for smarter, energy- efficient cities. This year’s Go Green in the City saw more than 23,000 young innovators from 165 countries take part, with 57% of that number being women – fantastic! The finalists will have the opportunity to present their ideas to some world-leading industry figures at Schneider Electric’s Global Innovation Summit 2019, a two-day event on the 2nd and 3rd of October in Barcelona. Congratulations Jamie, Adrienne and Rachel!

These stories are always the best to receive – so enjoy the issue, and see you next month.
