ESF launches new grant scheme R


esponding to the cost of living crisis, campaigning charity, Electrical Safety First, has launched a grant scheme to help reduce electrical risk in the home. Around half of all domestic fi res in the UK are caused by electricity, with most arising from electrical products.

Ovia has appointed Luke Smith to the position of area sales manager for the mid-Wales region. Luke brings a wealth of experience to his new role having worked with a lighting manufacturer for more than eight years. In his role with Ovia, he will be responsible for developing new and existing customer relationships at an independent and national level, as well as engaging with contractors and specifi ers to grow brand and product awareness and to assist where lighting design and specifi cations are required.

Grants are open to local consumer protection and safety organisations, such as Fire and Rescue Services, Trading Standards, and other charities. The Fund will off er grants of £5,000 for smaller projects run by a single organisation, while up to £10,000 may be made available for joint, collaborative, or larger projects.

C.K Tools, has appointed Paul Pugh as its new head of marketing. Paul comes with a wealth of UK and international experience, including 23 years in the power tools sector and as a partner in an electrical contracting business. He has actioned senior roles for both DeWalt and Milwaukee respectively, across fi eld marketing, sales, product management, and key account management, and in major global markets such as China, Hong Kong, and Dubai. As well as responsibility for the full marketing mix, range management and brand development, Mr Pugh will also be taking a senior lead on new product excellence as well as ensuring closer customer and end user alignment in the business’ activity.

Spelsberg UK, the manufacturer of electrical enclosures, has appointed a new area sales manager for the north of England. With extensive experience within the industrial enclosure market, Graham Broadley will support the company’s customers ranging from OEMs and end users through to wholesalers supplying to electrical contractors. Graham is responsible for a region that spans from Nottinghamshire and Cheshire, north to Cumbria and Northumbria. Graham joins Spelsberg from junction box and distribution board manufacturer, Hensel, and before that he held sales positions Lewden and CeeNorm.
