Lucecohas supplied energy efficient LED lighting to new facilities at Hornsea Hub, working alongside East Riding Infrastructure & Facilities (ERI&F). Hornsea Hub has enjoyed a complete refurbishment and extension of the centre, the new build element included a new Foyer, Library and Cafe with a commercial kitchen on the ground floor and Gym and Dance Studio on the first floor. The refurbishment programme included a Children's & Adult’s Centre, Swimming Pool, Squash Courts and Sports Hall.

Various luminaires were included in the lighting design, notably flagship fittings, Contour and Platinum. Digital dimmable 4000K suspended and recessed linear Contour fittings were installed throughout the reception and high traffic communal areas. Seamless runs of energy saving cost effective LED lighting were created using connectable modules offered in 600, 1200, 1500 and 1800 mm lengths and interconnecting power and module connectors. Platinum and Platinum Mini downlighters complemented the design complete with drop frosted glass décors and IP65 rated diffusers.

Super-efficient Samsung LED chips deliver 100Llm/cW, with F-Type also offering leading and trailing edge dimming compatibility as standard. Both Atlas and Celeste bulkhead style luminaires
were used, various Atlas fittings were installed with integral microwave sensors to further reduce
energy consumption. With the corridor function selected, the sensor adjusts the light level to 10% of the normal level when the space is unoccupied. The seaside resort of Hornsea dates back to at
least the early medieval ages but blossomed in the Victorian era when the Hull and Hornsea Railway opened in 1864. With its stunning two-storey extension, Hornsea Hub will provide a new focal point for the central promenade, the project is part of a wider regeneration programme for the sea front designed to attract more visitors to the area, as well as serving the local community.
