Ideal Electrical helps power Habitat for Humanity initiative O
The home improvement charity shop and community hub provides vulnerable people, including women and families at risk of homelessness or housing poverty, a welcoming space to access advice, practical help and opportunities to learn new skills or volunteer.
During the one-day service event, Ideal volunteers put their electrical expertise to use, installing hot water heaters, pendant lights, two-way switching stair lighting, replacing hand dryers and relocating lighting displays. With only 2% of social housing in the UK currently being furnished, the ReStore plays a pivotal role in providing aff ordable furniture and household goods to create a sustainable local community.
CEF celebrates 75 years with charity initiative
C
n June 15, Ideal Electrical brought together local electricians and industry volunteers to complete necessary electrical updates to Habitat for Humanity’s Romford ReStore.
ity Electrical Factors (CEF) marked its 75th anniversary with a nationwide community food drive last month, with over 400 foodbanks supported as part of the campaign.
Every CEF branch became a donation point in the run up to the offi cial celebration on 16 July 2026. The community food drive brought together CEF teams,
customers and suppliers to mark over seven decades of the wholesaler’s role in local communities across the country: as an employer, a supplier and a supporter of electrical professionals in the UK. For the duration of the initiative, CEF branches both donated essential goods and acted as collection point for their local foodbank. Throughout its 75-year history, CEF has been committed to playing an active role in the communities that surround it. Founded in 1951 by Tom Mackie in Coventry, CEF began as a single electrical wholesale branch, built on a simple premise: off er reliable service, build strong relationships and support customers in the trades. Now, with branches stretching from Scotland to England’s south coast, CEF employs over 4,000 people in the UK, all working towards supporting the UK’s ever- evolving electrical trade with a focus on quality, service and trust.
