As customer requirements continue to evolve, the company continues to strengthen its PVC-LSF (Lower Smoke & Fume) off ering across its cable management range, providing customers with enhanced fi re performance options. The investment refl ects Univolt’s commitment to giving electrical wholesalers, contractors and specifi ers greater choice, ensuring products are available to suit a wide range of applications across commercial, industrial and public sector projects.


Raising standards through greater choice


Fire safety continues to play an increasingly important role in modern building design, with many projects now specifying products that off er enhanced performance in the event of a fi re. At the same time, standard PVC cable management remains the ideal solution for many everyday installations, and Univolt continues to off er an extensive range to meet these requirements. To support developing market demands, Univolt has invested in the continued evolution of its PVC-LSF specifi cation. The company’s mini trunking, conduit and surface boxes are now available in PVC-LSF, alongside the SLR 50/170 three-compartment curved dado trunking system, with roll-out of the popular maxi trunking range in PVC-LSF over the coming nine months. Schools, colleges and universities require products that support safe evacuation procedures for students and staff . Hospitals and healthcare facilities need to protect patients, many of whom may have limited mobility or respiratory conditions, while ensuring critical equipment is protected from smoke damage. Government buildings, public sector developments and infrastructure projects are also increasingly incorporating enhanced fi re performance into their specifi cations.

effi cient production capability on a global scale. The investment includes new extrusion lines, injection moulding machinery and substantial expenditure on new tooling to support future product development.


The result is a manufacturing operation approximately twice the size of its previous facility, providing increased production capacity, greater fl exibility and improved stock availability. The expanded facility also enables Univolt to hold substantially higher stock levels, reducing lead times and ensuring customers have access to products when they need them.
