ales of used electric cars increased by almost 91% last year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), showing a clear consumer demand for more sustainable mobility options.


In order to support this demand, it is essential that the right infrastructure is in place. In February, the Department for Transport announced plans to accelerate the deployment of EV charge points across the UK, including grants for schools, additional funding for councils and new proposals to boost chargepoint numbers. The government has also recently extended VAT relief for energy-saving materials (ESMs) in residential buildings - providing a key opportunity for the electrical sector.
