Vent-Axia Sentinel Apex scoops CIBSE Air Quality Award

Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia is delighted to have won an award at the prestigious CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2024.

T

he Sussex-based company won the ‘Product or Innovation of the Year – Air Quality’ category for its Sentinel Apex, the next generation of commercial heat recovery ventilation.

After a rigorous judging process, the award judges selected the Sentinel Apex.

The award judges noted that Vent-Axia’s Sentinel Apex was developed from the outset with equal consideration to operational performance and whole life costing, and this is visible in the data available for the product. Other areas that the judges highlighted include the Sentinel Apex’s local sourcing and manufacturing in a low-energy facility that delivers on Vent-Axia’s low carbon manufacturing claims, with the judges praising the company for providing excellent resources – including BIM, TM65 and sizing information – to help with correct application and sizing.

HellermannTyton develops fastening solution for solar installations

Cable management specialist HellermannTyton has developed QWICGRIP, a creative cable-securing solution with UV resistance designed to streamline cable management in solar installations.

T

he go-to solution for efficient and reliable cable management in rooſtop and commercial solar

projects, QWICGRIP revolutionises the way cables are secured in the solar industry, ensuring that elements are fixed for parallel routing. Indeed, due to its versatility, the solution is also suitable for a range of other industries including panel building, automotive and rail vehicle manufacturing. Crucially for the solar industry, where installers are likely working at height, the solution is designed to improve safety and protection. Once the QWICGRIP is applied, cables can be both fitted and removed with one hand for easy maintenance, allowing users to keep themselves

in a safe position. The solution also protects the installation against damage by reducing abrasion – which in turn increases its longevity. With its innovative features, QWICGRIP, does away with cable hassles and introduces efficiency to solar projects, saving time, enhancing safety, and reducing costs for solar and electrical installers. Its adaptability to various cable sizes and eco-conscious design makes it a versatile and environmentally responsible choice. John Banks, head of product management and marketing for HellermannTyton, commented: “We developed the QWICGRIP solution to provide our customers with a cost-effective way of protecting cables. With a rapidly growing number of solar installations in the UK, we are

The Sentinel Apex achieves the holy grail by delivering the highest level of IAQ and thermal comfort with the lowest energy and noise levels. Offering up to 93% heat recovery efficiency (EN308 test method), the Sentinel Apex boasts ultra-low sound levels, which are independently tested and verified by the industry renowned Sound Research Laboratories. In addition, an extremely low SFP results in a significant performance improvement compared to previous commercial heat recovery units. Meanwhile, the Sentinel Apex›s intuitive controls are compatible with Vent-Axia’s range of Sentinel-X Sensors, allowing easily configurable set points ensuring optimised IAQ, in line with Part F of the Building Regulations, while also minimising ventilation energy consumption. projectorders@vent-axia.com (0)344 856 0590 www.vent-axia.com

committed to making installers’ jobs easier where possible, and we are pleased that we have been successful in helping them save on installation time and labour costs.”
