Advertorials Increased demand on connectors for

“Tape & Reel” packing The demand and orders on packaging for automatic assembly for connectors in “Tape & Reel” packing has significantly increased in the past few months. All versions, grid patterns and possible number of contacts are ordered depending on the type, beginning with 2 contacts up to 20 contacts / 40 contacts.

Where it is necessary and reasonable the pick and place pad is mounted as a plastic moulded part or also as a Kapton foil. Those will be removed after the soldering process. The widths of the tapes are possible in the normed versions and are offered in different widths appropriate to the graduated number of contacts.

In addition also more and more tape solutions for connectors which are soldered by the wave- solder technique are demanded, set up and produced.

Herewith the so-called “THR”-versions (“Through-Hole-Reflow“) or pure wave solder parts can be packed for automatic assembly, loaded by the customer and soldered.

The product specialists at Fischer Elektronik info@fischerelektronik.de will be happy to assist you with any queries you may have or any additional information you require.

Euroquartz to launch new high frequency ultra-low jitter oscillators at

Embedded Design Show 2017 Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz is launching two new ranges of oscillators at the forthcoming Embedded Design Show (EDS 2017, October 18th & 19th, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK). Offering ultra-low phase jitter of 150fs typical, the new oscillators are produced in the UK and are available in frequencies from 50 to 2100MHz with a choice of outputs including LVPECL, LVDS and CML differential. High current steering logic (HCSL) differential outputs are available for oscillators up to 700MHz

EQJF series oscillators feature a choice of supply voltages – 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3V – across the range apart from LVPECL with 2.5 and 3.3V only. Frequency stability specifications of ±25, ±50 and ±100ppm over both commercial (-10 to +70°C) and industrial (-40 to +85°C) temperature ranges are available as standard with tighter custom options supplied to special order.

Complementing the EQJF series is the EQVJF range of voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) offering frequencies from 150 to 2100MHz (HCSL 150 to 700MHz) with identical options and similar RMS phase jitter performance.

Both ranges feature maximum ageing of ±3ppm in first year (±2ppm per year thereafter), duty cycle of 50%±5%, rise times of 0.35ns maximum (0.4ns for HCSL) and current consumption from 70 to 100mA typical depending on output logic selected. Additional features include start-up time of 5ms typical, 10ms maximum and output enable/disable functions.

Parcels’ IoT visibility SIMplified with GradConn’s connectors

There’s always some concern over entrusting a parcel of any value to a shipping company, and a corresponding sense of relief on learning of its safe arrival. But if you’re supplying products sensitive to humidity, light or temperature such as pharmaceuticals, food or electronics, it’s not just a passing uneasiness –your business viability depends critically on vulnerable shipments that arrive safely, without having been damaged in transit.

Fortunately, the rise in IoT technology has facilitated an affordable solution; the TrackerSense system. This comprises small, sealed GPS trackers that can be dropped into a parcel just before shipment, and an intuitive web portal that shows the tracking history,

current location and environmental data of shipments anywhere in the world, enabling full tracing capability.

As the TrackerSense modules are often single use, it was important to select a SIM card connector that is compact, robust and cost effective. GradConn has helped TrackerSense achieve this, with their economical 2FF Push-Pull Mini SIM Card Connector, type CH03-AL. The connector is offered with 6 or 8 pins. It has full IEC68 approval for a range of environmental characteristics, yet is available at a price point sufficiently attractive for TrackerSense’s low-cost, single-use module production.

The low-profile height facilitates the module’s compact design, while its metal frame provides additional support for the SIM and reduces warping from heat. It also distributes contact pressure more evenly.

Versatile miniature circular connectors Electrical and electronic connector distributor

Lane Electronics has made available a series of miniature circular connectors manufactured by Neutrik. Called etherCON, powerCON and opticalCON, the connectors have been designed to satisfy a wide range of industrial data and communication applications.

etherCON is a ruggedized and lockable RJ45 connector system optimized for industrial network applications. The connectors feature a diecast shell with what Neutrik describes as a unique chuck-type strain relief with versions and allow the assembly of already assembled conventional RJ45 cables.

Neutrik’s powerCONis a locking three conductor AC connector with contacts for line, neutral and pre-mating ground contact. It is an ideal replacement for appliance couplers when a rugged solution combined with a locking device is needed to guarantee a safe and reliable power connection.

With models based on, and compatible with standard LC and MTP® connectors, opticalCON is

designed to overcome the weakness inherent in fibre-optic connector systems. Designed for difficult environments, these connectors guarantee a safe, dust protected and rugged connection. The opticalCONMTP®

cable connector features a robust all-metal housing and heavy-duty strain

relief. An innovative spherical dust cover protects the fibre from contamination and minimizes maintenance.

In addition to these connector ranges, Lane Electronics also holds large stocks of Neutrik’s chassis connectors, patch bays and cables, plugs, jacks and phono connectors.

DC centrifugal fans cut acoustic noise levels A family of DC centrifugal fans that in typical high

performance cooling applications consume 13% less power than competitive products is currently available at EAO. The fans offer significantly reduced acoustic noise levels. Manufactured by Sanyo Denki, the San Ace C175 9TGA DC centrifugal cooling fans measure just 175mm x 69mm.

The 48VDC version delivers 1100Pa (max) static pressure with a maximum airflow of 1056m3/hour (622 CFM) whilst the 24VDC version produces 830Pa (max) static pressure and delivers a maximum airflow of 918m3/hour (541CFM).

Both fans features a sound pressure level (SPL) rating that is 3dB(A) lower than competitive products.

According to Robert Davies EAO UK Marketing Manager, Sanyo Denki has engineered the San Ace C175 9TGA cooling fans to operate efficiently and reliably in even the most demanding applications.

"A rugged dual ball bearing construction ensures reliable long term operation of 60,000 hours at 40ºC and 40,000 hours at 60ºC, Davies explained. "And with an operating temperature range of - 20 to +70oC these fans exceed the requirements of numerous modern applications including mobile telecoms cabinets, heat exchangers, large-scale energy storage systems and fuel cells."

The cooling fans are part of an extensive Sanyo Denki centrifugal fan range supplied and supported by EAO Ltd. The company's product portfolio also includes DC centrifugal fans in100, 133, 150, 175, 221, 225 and 270mm diameters, available in both standard and IP55 rated versions.
