The AIR-500 series is engineered to meet the demands of high-performance AI inferencing at the edge and training of AI models with specific parameter sizes. It complies with the EMC testing and safety certification requirements of the industrial control market and is supported by a long-term supply guarantee of 10 years. For heat management during high-speed AI computation, Advantech has enhanced heat dissipation to ensure stable operation at ambient temperatures
up to 40°C, preventing temperatures from exceeding the maximum operating limits of AI accelerator cards. Additionally, fan modules with efficient cooling performance provide extra airflow for passive cooling accelerator cards. This enhanced design eliminates concerns about overheating and frequency reduction, ensuring maximum equipment performance regardless of the AI accelerator an enterprise chooses. The AIR-500 series includes three models: the AIR-520, AIR-530, and AIR-510. Notably, the AIR-520 is Advantech’s first foray into integrating a server-grade chip platform into edge systems. This model can accommodate up to four single-slot graphics cards or two double-slot graphics cards, providing powerful AI computing capabilities. It supports on-premises training of large language models (LLMs)
like Llama-2-70B, effectively meeting enterprise requirements for AI model training at the edge. Paired with Phison’s aiDAPTIV+, the AIR-520 enhances AI LLM capabilities, enabling advanced AI training models with virtually unlimited computational capacity.
Phison’s patented AI computing technology, aiDAPTIV+, utilizes their integrated SSD AI computing architecture. This technology splits large AI models into smaller parts and synchronizes model parameters with SSD operations over time. As a result, it maximizes the performance of AI models even with limited GPU and DRAM resources, significantly reducing the hardware costs for providing AI services. The AIR-530 is built to handle large volumes of high-speed data transmission, utilizing the NVIDIA SmartNIC chip
