Electronics Industry Awards 2020

Congratulations to the winners of the Electronics Industry Awards 2020

The virtual awards ceremony took place online on Thursday 24th September 2020, and was well received by the electronics industry. Strictly Come Dancing’s Alan Dedicoat announced the winners, along with the highly commended positions, and all who triumphed got a chance to revel in their success

C

ommenting on the 2020 awards, CIE’s editor Niamh Marriott said, “The very fi rst virtual Electronics Industry Awards had to this year, for obvious reasons, take on a

different format. We had of course hoped to celebrate with you all in person, win or lose, with a drink and time spent together, but that will have to wait until safer times. However, we really wanted to showcase and celebrate the successes of this year, which, despite the dreaded virus, have been many and varied. We had more entries than ever before, and the calibre of products this year was just so high. We needed to celebrate this enormous talent.

“Over the last 12 months, there have been huge leaps with different technologies, new products have been introduced, and there’s been an industry-wide effort to keep everything moving forward. We wanted to give everyone the recognition they deserve through our Product, Business, and Individual Awards. I want to of course thank all of our superb sponsors, without whom we couldn’t have had these virtual awards, and for supporting this event in the most challenging time.

“I want to especially thank our expert judging panel too, for their incredible knowledge and critique. We had a real

plethora of industry veterans on our panel this year, and I’d like to personally thank Adam Fletcher of the ecsn, John Biggs who is chairman of the ITSA, Peter Hannon, deputy chair of the ITSA and managing director of Harting UK, Nicholas Hill who is the Chief Executive of Plextek, Svetlana Josifovska, the esteemed editor of Electronics World magazine, and Andy Stubbings, the technical and managing director at Noritake Itron. And of course I’d like to thank everyone in the industry who voted for their favourite products, businesses and people online. I’m delighted for the winners, and I look forward to celebrating with you all in due course!”
