ADI’s MAX25608 offers advanced integration, high performance and safety, flexibility, and EMI mitigation functionality such as the following: u Integration: Provides built-in logarithmic fade-in/fade-out capability that simplifies LED programmability and reduces taxation on system bus lines. u High performance and safety: Features advanced fault protection and management for open, short, and open-trace LED detection. Low RDS(ON)

u Flexibility: Supports multiple ICs to manage large LED pixel counts; allows designers to configure LED groups, such as 1 string × 12 series switches, and 2 strings × 6 series switches. u EMI mitigation: Slew-rate control reduces EMI and noise.

Under the same test environment of a 1A output to 12 LEDs, EMI results show no spikes due to the MAX25608’s proprietary charge pump design as shown in Figure 9. The MAX25608 is driven by the MAX25600 H-bridge LED driver with two LEDs at each channel. A 4.7μF output cap and a filter (1μH + 0.1μF) are added to the MAX25600. The current spike is measured while dimming, as shown in Figure 10.

Conclusion

As the trend of vehicle electrification and intelligence is growing fast, the lighting system has become an increasingly important feature in present and future vehicle designs. The lighting system is characterised by flexibility, efficiency, reliability, and more personalised and artistic effects. ADB and AFS are considered advanced safety features. In these designs, an accurate, efficient, and reliable LED manager for the LED matrix is required.

ROLEC Launches New profiCASE HMI Enclosures For Screens Up To 10”

ROLEC has launched tough new profiCASE (IP 65, IP 66, IP 67), a cost-effective HMI enclosure for panel PCs, touch screens and displays up to 10”.

Advanced profiCASE protects industrial electronics in extreme environments. Applications include mechanical engineering, construction vehicles and tractors, tankers, and underground mining. Handle strips make it suitable for mobile applications.

These diecast aluminium enclosures can be mounted directly on a machine or vehicle, attached to a suspension arm – such as ROLEC’s profiPLUS 50 or taraSMART – or bolted to a VESA 100 bracket (while remaining completely sealed).

Smart design features include an integrated hinge solution and captive lid (maximum opening angle 95°). Hooking the cover in place and securing it with locking screws makes profiCASE a compact cabinet. Integrated hinges prevent the cover from becoming detached. If necessary, the cover can be removed quickly by undoing the two screws. Two versions of profiCASE are available. PCD features rear screw mounting (so the screws are not visible from the front). PCV has front screw mounting for attaching the enclosure directly to a wall or machine. Torx screws deter tampering.

The enclosures are cast from 100% recycled material. There are two sizes, 320 x 300 x 85 mm (for screens up to 7”) and 400 x 380 x 85 mm (for screens up to 10”). Two standard colours are available: light grey (RAL 7035) and anthracite (RAL 7016). Custom colours can be specified on request. Accessories include cable glands, pressure equalisation elements, terminal blocks, cross rails and DIN rails. ROLEC can supply profiCASE fully customised. Services include displays, CNC machining, powder coating, painting, engraving, EMC shielding, screen and digital printing, and assembly of accessories.
