selling price if the electronic systems they produce are sold in the US, reducing their competitiveness with equivalent goods produced domestically or in a third country where no tariffs are applied. Just what ecsn customers need!
Concluding thoughts
Despite ‘mercantilism’ having a poor track record, I still believe that a managed free market economy yields a better economic and social outcome than a totally unregulated market. I remain very optimistic that the checks and balances operating in the global economy will quickly bring about the necessary changes to the new economic policies of the US (and other governments) and restore a more stable business environment for all. Once again, I urge all parties in the global electronic components supply network to continue to work diligently up and down their organisation’s supply network to identify, discuss and mitigate any potential problems as they arise.
